Star Wars Black Series

Someone else I wish they'd make is Pao. We didn't get him from Rogue One in Black Series, but we see him again in Andor Season 2. He's a cool looking alien Rebel, and I think he'd make a good figure. I'd like to have Black Series figures of Saw's group as well like Edrio Two Tubes, Bentric and Moroff since we see them again in Andor Season 2 as well.

I feel like cool alien characters would sell a lot better than some of the very plain clothed humans. Even though I'd buy them too, but I just don't see Hasbro taking the chances on most of them.

We're definitely seeing the collision of 'fun toy collectors' with 'world builder collectors' with the failure of stuff like Andor S1 figures. It shines a light on the divide between maybe who we think other buyers are, and who they actually are. Clearly, the grown ups that will just buy any and all Star Wars characters for their giant Star Wars displays are NOT actually the majority. Definitely seems like the majority is with 'action-focused' collectors. Including kids, of course.

Oddly, I think timing has a lot to do with things too. Had they released Mon around the time of season 2, I think she would've sold a lot better. She obviously had a fair amount to do in season 1, but I'd argue most of her iconic moments are in season 2. Or if they'd given her, you know, any accessories at all. I think she'd sell somewhat decently now, at least better than before, even if she would probably still be a traffic cone (another reason why I don't think she sold too well).

That's also what makes me a little nervous for whenever they do get around to Kleya. Obviously her hospital infiltration was an iconic scene, but I'd rather have something that represents the character better overall, which I think would probably be the blue and white dress she wears in the antiquity shop, but figures in dresses are tough to pull off (though the recent ANH Leia redo gives me, no pun intended, hope.) I'd say Syril is a decently safe bet too, though as to whether it would be his season 1 uniform or his Ghorman look is where I get stuck.

Partagaz and Kino feel like they're at least possible, if only because of the reuse potential. Partagaz can basically already be kitbashed from other figures minus the headsculpt, and a Kino would, as others have said, allow for at least a Narkina Cassian. Melshi would be great, but I'd want him in something other than his prison uniform, to be honest. I could see Hasbro relegating Kino to a con-exclusive pack of some sort, but then again, after we got the Morak Din and Mayfeld in a regular wave, you never know.

I’d settle for S1E7 Kleya where she meets Vel, the red outfit with the scoop hood was super cool but I guess the blue dress/grey undersuit is most likely. Melshi, Will, Tubes, and Partagaz would be grand also, and honestly I’d quite like Bratt’s Bail too. I accept we’ll likely never get Cinta, Dreena, Lonni, or at least not before I’ve long since snuffed it.

I'd love Lonni but for now we've got that generic Imperial officer with a mustache from a few years back that I'm using as a stand-in -- actually, in all honesty, is that SUPPOSED to be Lonni from Season 1? He wasn't in ISB whites til S2.

Timing definitely had something to do with it - Andor figs got hit with the plastic-free packaging. Then Hasbro had to Hasbro and double release Andor with B2 making the regular release instantly redundant.

Then Vel had some serious sizing issues and Bix's lower body makes no anatomical sense.

Making Fan Channel two-packs would be a way to go and include a diorama piece to spice up our lives.

Corsucant Luthen & Kleya - with the museum piece you read with your fingers and something else fancy, plus a detonator

Kino & Cassian Prison set - with extra Melshi head to really annoy people. Comes with buildable Death Star part.

Syril & His Mother - give him some computer devices and removable hat and she gets the blue milk and cereal bowl. Bonus if it comes with spiders.

But really - Syril first outfit and Dedra with her travel coat and hat

Senate Mon & Bratt Bail - with Senate circle (does this have an official name?)

Could do a Wil and updated Bix set. With spoiler.

Amazon updated all my pre-orders for the new wave to arriving either August 14th or 21st. Mostly the latter- only the new Chewie is currently listed for the 14th. Looks like the Cal 3 pack should be shipping alongside the wave too. Gonna be another expensive week or two, but I'll take it!

So, the Phase 2 Clone, Starkiller, and Darth Malgus all went up for pre order again as the next batch of rereleases. Those are all good figures.

I already have them all, but pre ordered them again. I like getting extras of any Jedi or Sith, and then as far as the Clone, army building. But they are all up on Pulse and other online retailers like BBTS.

I wonder if the string of re-releases Hasbro has been doing lately is a sign of wanting to squeeze more money out of molds or a recognition that they under-produced some figures.

I have all those figures, and they really are great, but I'm so tempted to get a backup Revan just in case anything happens to the one I have. He's such a core memory type character for me.

I think you nailed it - it's both cost-effective AND a way to keep up with demand. I have never played any Star Wars game but the figures all look cool - I own most but actually need to get them set up properly. I have not been motivated on this subline.

It's also playing it safe given the political climate - keeps product flowing but with zero new investment so the risk is mostly removed. I do wish they had updated the Padawan Ahsoka to plastic packaging - I would have bought another to keep on display. She's important enough to justify the new packaging.

There are some decent sales on Pulse right now for their Pulse Day Sales. The Darth Maul with Speeder and Battle Droid with STAP are both part of the sale at discounted prices. So are some single figures and multi packs. Brutus from Skeleton Crew is only like $18 right now. That figure is totally worth owning if you don't have it.

As of now, I cancelled my pre orders for the Night Troopers from Ahsoka that are about to be in the Wave with Ezra, Han, Chewy, etc.

It's strange, I like the Nightsisters, I don't mind the idea their powers can resurrect people, but the idea of Zombie Stormtroopers in Star Wars really doesn't sit well with me lol. It just feels weird. And don't get me wrong, I wasn't put off by it totally as I watched, because I really enjoyed Ahsoka. But zombies in Star Wars just seems odd, and having zombie toys in my Star Wars collection feels more wrong.

It's crazy, because I bought the 2 pack with Enoch and the white Night Trooper. But you can't see their faces. So, they don't have to be the undead. But this Black Night Trooper has the break in his helmet, and you can see he is an undead zombie dude. And something about it I just don't like.

LOL, it's so stupid I know.

I may end up buying one eventually, but I definitely don't need to army build this trooper like I do others.
