Star Wars Black Series

Genuinely concerned that Asajj hasn't even been pipelined.
She hasn't been pipelined, but she is in the extremely reliable rumored figures on YakFace. I'd say it's her in her look from Bad Batch with her Yellow Sabers. So, a very similar if not identical look to her "Tales" look.

It's pretty certain we will be getting emo hair resurrected Asajj with yellow lightsabers

Hell yeah. Thanks for the knowledge.

I'd argue this is the best Farmboy Luke in this relative scale ever. I actually like it more than the SHF. I've given up on a truly great likeness - he's just got one of those faces, it seems. For me it was watching Andor with my wife that really gave me the Star Wars itch again, right in time for all these awesome upgrades to the main ANH cast. I definitely want Han and Chewie. I also really want Leia, but I've been unable to find her locally since passing on her a couple of times when she first came out. Stupid me.
I saw a review of the Chewie yesterday and they shrank him by like 3/4" compared to the first Chewie. I have to decide if I'm OK with that. A Chewie replacement isn't as big a priority as the main three.

Yeah, Asajj hasn't been explicitly pipelined yet, but even without the rumor that she's coming, I'd feel pretty confident in getting her eventually. She seems too obvious and too easy not to do. I'd imagine we may see an official pipeline or reveal during SDCC, hopefully alongside a Qimir and ROTS Anakin & Obi Wan.

Oh wow. I don't like that at all.

On the other hand... I don't have a Chewie at all anymore and I also really dislike the limited ROM on previous Chewies. Now I'm very torn.

Maybe half an inch? I guess I'm not sure, but he's shorter. Still taller relative to Han......maybe the first Chewie was too big? The first one also has more reddish brown fur, new on has more golden brown. Old crossbow has stiffer plastic with dry brushing, new crossbow is cheap rubbery plastic with no dry brushing (no surprise). Still on the fence.

I kinda like the new one, to be honest. I'd need to see him in a group with the rest of the main cast, but at least using the new Han as a basis, I do think the new Chewie scales a little better. The old one, at least with the new Han, looks like there'd be way more than a foot between them if they were scaled up to normal size (there's only about 14 inches between Harrison and Peter). I know Peter was a lanky guy, but the old Chewie always felt a bit too lanky to me. I like that the new one is less shiny too; that's another thing that I know varies by scene and lighting- the color and shininess of his fur, but I always liked him a little more dull. Chewie may be more civilized than a lot of Wookies, but he's still a wild animal. I have a feeling this will be a pretty divisive figure.

Looking at them all together, I think the only disappointment for me really is the bowcaster. Getting real tired of every company being cheap with the accessories. It goes way under-appreciated how much a few paint hits on an accessory can make a figure go from okay to really nice. I like the head and colors on the new Chewie a lot more, and I don't think the size really bothers me as much as I expected. But maybe on a re-watch of the OT I'll realize he needs to be v1 height and then I'll get angry again. Time will tell.

Randomly won a signed photo this week of Graballa the Hutt with Dana Snyder’s autograph on it and it got me thinking to start up the conversation of if there would be any interest in other Hutts in Black Series.

And then I remembered that with the rumors of Jeremy Allen White’s character in the Mandalorian movie, that we’ll likely get at least one more Hutt in the somewhat near future.

Y'know, seeing that video... I don't care at all about the height change. I like every other improvement enough that a shorter Chewie, as long as he's still taller than Han, works for me. Just being able to get him in a decent bowcasting pose is a massive leap forward.

I’m someone who already switched to the ESB Chewie they made a few years ago and had already adjusted the height on, so I figured everyone had already gotten used to the probably corrected height they’ve been doing for Chewie. If this new one is as tall as the ESB Chewie then he’s still the tallest figure in the original line up and with the new sculpt, this definitely looks to be the definitive Chewie.

I guess that’s also why I never got the fuss over Kyrsantan’s height when folks were comparing him to the very first Chewie we got 10+ years ago.

The only tricky thing for me with the Hutts is how much space they take up. I have my Jabba on the floor in front of the Black Series shelf, because he'd take up the space of like 6 or so figures, depending. Obviously it's gonna depend on his role in the movie, but I wouldn't mind a swole Rotta on the shelf. I always thought Ziro was important enough to make a figure of, even if he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm surprised they never made a baby Rotta for Ahsoka to carry around. I've seen some pretty cool fan-made customs of both.

Checked out the rest of the wave on their channel, and it looks like a heck of a good one. Ezra and Merrin especially look like phenomenal figures- the likeness is superb on both. Hasbro really knocked it out of the park this time; can't wait to get them all in hand

Here's the problem I have with Hutt figures, generally (obviously this only applies to Jabba -so far-, but I think we can extrapolate intelligently here): They fucking cost too much for glorified dio pieces. You can't really do anything with Jabba. He just sits there - probably raised up in the back or low in the front of your display, taking up a bunch of space and just being there because, of course, you need a Jabba.
But they charge for him the same way they'd charge for a regular-style figure of similar size, and I feel like that's kind of bullshit. Barely any paint deco and like 6 points of articulation is not equivalent to even a Gamorrean Guard figure, so why is it like twice the cost?

Now, if Jabba was the same cost as a regular figure? That's, to me, a comfortable spot for a product like that.

I guess that’s also why I never got the fuss over Kyrsantan’s height when folks were comparing him to the very first Chewie we got 10+ years ago.
To be fair, Hasbro basically buried the ESB version and have released the original Chewie multiple times, as well as the various reissues of original Chewie just being much easier to find than ESB. So I'd say most people just have the original Chewie (whether from the original release or otherwise).
