Star Wars Black Series

Hehehe, literally ten seconds after I sent that last post I got charged for the sand trooper and Lt. Galle. (And the Stranger!) Just the new Vader and Asajj on preorder for now, then.
 
Han and Chewie finally hit my pile of loot. I've massively slowed down on Black Series of late...well, really I've slowed down on all purchases period since we've entered this economic perdition. I couldn't pass up those two though...finally getting better versions of two essential characters is really hard to resist!

On the other hand, I've found myself playing "clearance chicken" with some figures I'm interested in, but I don't "have" to have. I recently managed to complete the Skeleton crew by finding Jod and the kids at various Ross stores for $6! I wasn't interested in paying full price for them, but getting all of those for what is slightly above the price of one new figure? That I can go for! Now, I'm watching to see if the SM33 figure goes on clearance.

We saw some lightsaber blade teases at NYCC. There is a very good chance that the blue blade is for a Jedi Count Dooku and the two red blades are for the double-bladed saber of the 11th Brother both from the "Tales" Cartoons.

I hope those rumors are true. Jedi Dooku has long been rumored, so i could definitely see him. But the 11th Brother would be great.

I wouldn't mind a Jedi Dooku, though now that the ROTS office duel is well underway with Mace, Kit, and Palpy, I think I'd prefer Saesee and Agen first. They feel like a good wave, like how Shaak Ti and Luminara were. But after them, hell yeah, gimme that Dookie.

All ya'll with Ross stores make me jelly. I always hear of these great finds, but I don't have any stores near me, and when I go home to visit family and actually do have Ross stores, they always look like a post-Thanksgiving turkey. The only time I've ever found anything even kinda cool there was the Jada Count Chocula.
 
I've been tempted by this year's offerings too, especially the reindeer trooper. I know his body is basically a reuse of the gingerbread one, but it's nice to have another figure in the line that isn't some shade of red, green, or white. R2 is cute as well, but I think I'd just be tempted to keep it on the shelf as a regular Astromech year round. If I can't find anything else to use that Target toy coupon on, I may try and snag them, or see if they inevitably hit clearance.

The stores near me are incredibly hit-or-miss...mostly miss. I've heard of people finding tons of cool Marvel Legends in the stores on the other side of Houston (all over an hour away from me), but most of the time I don't find much. Recently, every one of the stores near me had the Strange Tales Dracula figure, and that was it. Meanwhile, I was hearing stories of people finding the entire wave near them. Yesterday, I saw someone posted that they found the Arim Zola/Strucker two-pack, as well as the Dr. Strange/Wong set at a store about 40 minutes away. I have no faith I'll find those at the stores near me though.

With the Skeleton Crew, I found two of them at two different stores on my side of town. My best friend found the other ones for me at different stores in other parts of town (he lives about 45 minutes to the east of me, but frequently travels to the south side of town to see his mom). If it hadn't been for him helping me, I never would have been able to complete this set. Ross is cool when you find those gems, but you can also drive yourself to madness running to different locations in a futile attempt to score anything at all.

Shoutout to a fellow Texan! Never made it all the way down to Houston, but I was born in Richardson and lived in Plano & McKinney. Still convinced it's the reason why I don't do well in the heat. 😅

To be fair, I did see KB at Ross when I was home a few weeks ago, but I've had her for close to a year at this point, so wasn't all that exciting. I still remain jealous of all the folks who've found the various Black Series lightsabers at their local Ross. One of the times lined up to when I was in town, and I spent like 2 whole days driving around trying to find them, to no luck. I shall live vicariously through ya'll.

Dedra is definitely one I'm playing chicken with. Same with the Andor Krennic figure...as many of those I've seen rotting on the pegs I have to think they'll either be on clearance or at Ross before too long.
 
Krennic is still warming those pegs by me, so I'll pick him up on sale, but I never saw the ISB Trooper in my neck of the woods, only back home. Glad I grabbed him when I did. I have to assume Ross is where the mountain of Vaders and Mandos went, because even on clearance they weren't moving, and then they were just gone one day.
