At first I was leaning in that direction, and that could be the case. Backer counts for Haslabs can fluctuate throughout the day (gain/loss). However nothing like this is happening with the LAAT/i Gunship. Also the consistent nature of the drops (20+ every day within a couple hours of my morning update) is suspect. Losing backers throughout the day can total that amount, but somehow every day within a select time frame there is a big drop in backers. And lets be honest here losing 20+ backers in an hour or two while a project is still moving forward in a positive direction is not normal.I don't know, I've seen posts on socials of people saying they don't think it's going to fund all tiers and canceling. Sure it's a little early but sometimes you just decide something and do it.
I can’t believe we are under 2 weeks and they aren’t doing anything to try to drum up more interest.Absolutely. I see comments, "everything from Hasbro is over $100!" for the SDCC stuff. Prices are high and maybe some people decided they'd rather have Cold Slither or whatever. Hasbro also didn't give us any further reason at SDCC to back the Snow CAT, aside from saying Iceberg is coming eventually.
I guess that could be a thing, but I am with you that I have seen the backer counts fluctuate throughout the day, even for this Haslab. So it could be a combination of both. A batch of cancellations dropped every day, plus the daily fluctuations. It is probably the most reasonable explanation though I am not seeing anything like that with the LAAT/i Gunship, so who knows. Of course it is still early for the Gunship and it may not have too many people backing out just yet.Someone on Hisstank says backer drops don't happen in real time and are "batched out" arounU d 6 a.m.
Makes more sense than anything else I've heard — although I feel like the drops did happen in real time with the Rancor and Ghost Rider campaigns. Maybe it has something to do with the updated website.
I think that has more to do with general fatigue than character selection. Every year Hasbro is asking us to spend a fairly large amount of money on a Marvel HasLab, a Star Wars HasLab, and a Joe HasLab - and they don't really seem to care too much how much customer crossover there is. Most toy companies also (and this isn't really a criticism) operate like there are no other toy companies in existence and their products are the only ones you can spend money on.Another thing that may be holding this back is the lack of army building. The Hiss and Rattler did that better and ha: 26,000+ orders. The Dragonfly, much like this, had all named characters and did only 24,000+ orders. Still far and above beyond the 14,000 we need to unlock everything but to drop so dramatically from the previous 3 is so weird. Even half the interest would have us in the 12-13K range. Surely this isn’t that much less popular than the others?
They don’t typically say ‘funded’ immediately after it reaches the goal, probably for that exact reason. Although once things fund, they typically see a spike in orders as its happening and that point and FoMo begins its work.I'm very curious to see if they would actually drop the number back down below the funding level once its reached - and even more curious if that would affect the status between funded/unfunded. I would think surely not, but you never know with how wonky the site seems to be.
