I do love JMS' Thor Run though, so much.

To be clear; that was speculative. If Hasbro does a Coipel Thor it might be fucking terrible. But the Herald Thor was really very nice and I think Legends has trended up in recent years in terms of just how good the figures turn out. If we get a Coipel Thor, I'd be surprised if it's not in a lot of 'Best of X year' lists that following December/January.

And yeah, JMS is my favorite Thor run ever. And I'm saying that as a Thor fan generally.

Well its a fight for 2nd place. Assuming they consider us having our Kirby Thor but of course he could be redone pinless with a better spinning Hammer and Throg accessory.

I suppose the Coipel Thor that was already done could be improved articulation-wise, but I doubt they can beat the sculpt. That sculpt seems pretty on target to me (I am sure this will cue people explaining why it isn't...).

Kirby and initial Simonson Thor are very, very similar and both are the same classic look - honestly the same body/uniform with a Kirby head and Simonson head would be ideal. The later Simonson Thor with the beard and armor is unique.

But the 80th Anniversary Thor to me works as classic Thor.

No, I agree with you. The problem is that it moves like shit. Even when it was newer and one of my favorite figures, I hated trying to do anything with him because you really couldn't.

There's a lot of missed opportunity by Hasbro when it comes to Thor and his supporting characters. He's had 4 movies and very little comic goodness to show for it.

Got it - I admit I never quite liked that look as much as the classic Kirby/Handbook look. Still, I would take it for sure, especially with a Throg pack in.

How can I be disappointed that they'll finally make another awesome Thor figure? That's a win for me.
