Ryan Ting Laid Off By Hasbro

I would have thought Dan would be much more expendable than Ryan, as bad as that sounds. I hate that for him. That's got to be a dream job, making figures that you also collect.

This sucks. He came on right before Hasbro Legends finally got it together, brought The X-Men back to new heights and has been a staple. I don't have a good feeling about this as a fan and feel for him and others. All because of...the big cheese?? Or maybe that's an excuse. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere and the line keeps going strong. He seemed to really like my fave era of X-Men though ...

Definitely a bummer. I know I talk a little bit of shit about the Livestreams but the three of them were definitely the best of the bunch and I can't fault them for their enthusiasm for their work. Feels like a real loss for the line.

Damn. That’s awful news. Loved his enthusiasm. It’s going to be weird seeing the livestreams without him (if they’re even still a thing).

That’s terrible. He was doing a great job with the line. Any decrease in sales is due to the exhaustion/lower quality of MCU movies.

Not a great sign for ML’s future, in my opinion.

What exactly was his title? Wasn't he the brand manager, more or less? I know Dan is marketing and Dwight is design.

So first and foremost condolences to Ryan. It sucks to be let go, and sucks more to be surprised by it

I will agree that I find it surprising Ryan was let go rather than Dan. Ryan seemed more 'in charge' on that team.

Hopefully Dan remains there and Dwight gets to keep heading up design.

I honestly can't believe that. I figured as long as Hasbro made Marvel Legends that guy was safe. Nothing against Dan or Dwight, but I felt like Ryan was more the lead of the group and probably had more job security than them.

But that was just assumption being that Ryan always takes the lead in the livestreams.

I am really sorry to hear this. I like all 3 of those guys. I hope Dan and Dwight are safe job wise, and I hope Ryn finds something great outside of Hasbro.

I’m guessing he was the most highly paid. The current CEO of Hasbro seems like the stereotypical “greed is good”/cutting-costs-is-the-only-strategy-he-knows CEO. The previous one who died seemed way better.

This is just awful news for Ryan. The man has two little kids. Hopefully another company will grab him immediately so he can quickly find his footing and keep his family comfortable. Also, hopefully Hasbro did the right thing and gave him a substantial compensation package which includes an extension of his family's health care benefits.
This happened to me in 2020. Similar family dynamic. It was a very scary time and I wish Ryan all the best at finding his new adventure. First and foremost, I hope and pray his family is safe and secure.

I also hope Ryan is on this site and reads all of these kind words from all of us. For a man I barely know, he has certainly made collecting ML enjoyable and exciting. It will not be the same going forward without the three of them together. Of all of the Hasbro on camera teams, the ML trio was the best. All three of them actually love comics and it showed.

I've always expected Ryan the get promoted and/or moved to another line. There are several livestreams where Dwight has mentioned this. I've also thought that during threats of layoffs that, no offense to Dan, but that Dan would go first since they seemed to have similar roles and that Dan was often absent during the livestreams. It is interesting that during the last livestream that Dan was there and Ryan was absent.

To do this right before SDCC is a really crap move on Hasbro's part. This will really take the focus away from the toys and fun of SDCC, plus Ryan is the most eloquent speaker of the three on camera during interviews. I'm assuming Dan now takes over the panel.

Best wishes, Mr. Ting!
