Roboskull MKII/Skeletron

I was out in MN this weekend and drove down to Rochester (the one official brick & mortar retailer they list on their site) hoping the new 6" Wolf figures would be on sale there, no luck. Cannot wait to order, they look amazing. And it looks like vehicle is at least temporarily not for sale. It is a fantastic piece!
Yeah the in stock for 6" should happen after all the KS and the preorders go out. So probably another week or three.
I didn't order any of the Wolf Troopers. The silver one looks particularly fetching. The red ones could blend well with some of the Monster Force red troops as well. Maybe the Cobra Crimson troops could be a splinter faction which has these Wolf troops and the Crimson Moon guys as well. Whoops, I may have talked myself into more stuff.
More stuff, more stuff!

For me, since I'm only sort of into GI Joe these guys are just a new faction on my shelves to menace everyone. Intergalactic space pirates. I love the Starfinder stats and little bit of lore they put out a while ago, the idea of these things launching from a "Mother Spine" ship. Love it. I think of these dudes as like, the folks the Starjammers have to deal with when they aren't doing Shi'ar and X-Men stuff. And maybe they fall through a dimensional rift occassionally and raid the Earth where the Joes live.
It's not the -style- of goofy that I enjoy, I guess?
I feel you. That's me and that upcoming Cryptic Kickstarter. I think those toys look thoughtfully designed, but so far the Mothman they showed has no chance of going on my shelf. I hope they do well and I hope they have something else that strikes me more, but right now I'm more happy other folks hopefully get stuff they like.

The Roboskull is 100% my blend of goofy though. It's a skull (big fan of skeletons of all sorts, just think they look neat) and it's wacky scifi bullshit, and I love wacky scifi bullshit. It's definitely a polarizing design so I get how it wouldn't appeal to a lot of folks.

Yeah as a six inch collector I didn't order the Skull ship because I thinkbit looks stupidly small with six inch figures. I don't buybit at all as a viable vehicle in the 1/12 space, so as interesting as it might look it doesn't fit in my collection.

Now l, if Hasbro does end up releasing the HISS in white, as has been rumored, I very well might buy one to paint red like the Palitoy Action Force 'Hyena Tank' to go with this faction

In hand, I find it fits just fine as a 1:12 battle pod kinda vehicle. But I can certainly see why not everyone would agree with that.

Hasbro is definitely releasing the HISS in white. They revealed it at NYCC

Yay, Bob arrived!

Bob likes: coffee, skull-shaped TIE fighters, and authoritarian cults that pay danger money.

Bob dislikes: pretty much everything else.

Not tried the Wild Weasel head/helmet yet, gonna wait for whenever the 5 pack comes in.

It definitely doesn't feel small in person. I only got it as a 6" vehicle and while it's probably a bit more compact than, say, the Black Series TIE, it still feels really well proportioned to me at least. The skull itself is about the size of my actual head, and I do not have a small noggin'.

if a Cobra flight pod is acceptable in size, why wouldnt a Roboskull be acceptable, as its five times the size?

i can sorta understand not liking the wing design. harsh angles. skull is smooth. but the wings are interesting since they can hinge down on top and bottom. so you have several different ways to display/use them. I just wish the wings were engineered to be removable. I’m sure they were designed to not be removable for strength and durability (as the ship rests on them). But I feel it could have been done.

one potential use for the Roboskull is a ship for Red Skull. seems like a pretty awesome ride for him.

I guess because it's tie fighter shaped I expect the cockpit to function similar to the tie fighter - which it does for 1/18, I think but not quite for 1/12.

I'm glad people like it and it works for them. Its not for me.

Honestly, when that white one got revealed, painting one red was the first thing I thought of too.

Print out some Red Shadows sticker and we're set.

Only* problem with the snow HISS is no gun turret, I guess you'd need some one to copy and 3D print the Haslab one? Or did it come with a spare?

* Oh and I guess the long coat FMF are giving not-Red Jackal might make getting him in the cockpit a bit tricky...

I got my set of 6 Wolf Troopers, 2 Jungle Wolf Troopers and Gyre Wolf in yesterday. These were superbly done. I'm guessing Skeletron is still in production for I ordered him but he was not in the package FedEx delivered.

Yeah he's not quite done cooking yet. Should be the last thing you get. I think their last estimate was Spring sometime, but my guess would be April or May at earliest given how things slow down for New Year.
