Quitting/putting collecting on pause

Yeah but that is EBGames' new price point. Seems they are trying to match the others with the Edge discount factored in. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Edge program ends in November. Will they replace it with something else to give some discount still, or will they just suffer with the stupid pricing like TRU did before the end?

I'll wait to see what Amazon.ca has them up for since I can't seem to find them yet. However I think the prices will still be in the $36-$37 range, for now.

Seeing MandoGrogu for 50 everywhere.

Amazon has the wave for 34.99 each, though. Haven't seen them price anything else up until this. Interesting.

You can replace the price with any number, though, at least as far as Hasbro goes. When I'm spending that much, may as well invest in boutique and indie lines.

Looking at my current "nerd space" filled with boxes and bins, I KNOW I need to heavily trim down. I need to really sit and go through everything once I get the rest (yeah, this isn't all of it) in the house, and see what I TRULY want to keep.

I'm thinking some of the Mezcos (earlier ones in particular) will be on the chopping block.

I don't think any TMNT will go, because that's a big part of my fandom, and various Batman and Spiderman figures (and related characters) will remain, but a lot of the other stuff will be on the block.

Just looking at what I currently have here, I never realized how many Extreme_Sets pieces I have, and I have more still in storage. The upside with that is, I can ACTUALLY use them for displays when I finally manage to get the space set up.

That's gonna be a killer space, Salem.
Provided I can get all the bookcases I want to, it should be a striking setup when all's said and done.

Been looking at clear door cabinets and the ones I'm leaning towards are a brand called Brottar on Amazon. The videos I've watched of people putting them together and then reviewing them, make them seem like the most viable option for what I want and price.

I just had to look those up, but they look really cool. I like them better than the Detolfs that were standard in collections for the longest time. I use Ikea Billy bookcases with the optional doors. I like those a lot but they doors have framing so they're not ONLY glass. Although I suppose maybe they do make all-glass options. I'm not sure.

Imagine if they did a multi-pack of that poster.
That SDCC exclusive would sell out in under an hour.

If they're worth as much as they were when I sold mine from 2019 to 2021, they'll be worth a fortune. Those early Mezco figures gave me a taste of what it must've been like to sell Beanie Babies in 1996.

Those are slightly taller and wider than what I have. I love my cabinets. They're incredibly versatile.

Curious to hear your thoughts on those if you do go with them. I've actually had my eye on them for a bit now; I want/need something to protect some of the more fragile and expensive pieces like statues and Hot Toys from dust and such, and those seemed like a good balance between price and quality.

I've checked those out as well and would like to hear your thoughts if you do get them. The acrylic side panels and the switch being inaccessible if you stand multiple side by side along with the immobile shelves are what has kept me with Billys for the time being. They're a bit more versatile and my current setup prioritizes that. If I ever got a house like a real boy (laughs), these would probably be more on my radar.

Yeah Brottar seems to be the latest, most popular brand. I have seen a number of reviews and overall it seems to be a quality product (and they have different styles for corners, etc.). However I do see a recurring issue with build quality at times and not everything lining up exactly. However none of that has seemed to dampen anyone's enjoyment of the display.

Yeah, this is something that's concerned me as well. The price point makes me wonder about build quality and longevity. I saw one review claiming that the shelves in the Brottar wouldn't sag int he middle and I side-eyed that real hard. If it's wood it'll sag unless it has supports or is short enough that there's no room to noticeably droop.

I just about bit on a Brottar lighted display case a week or two ago when I saw it was marked down 30% for some sale on Amazon. It was like $170 or something when it was normally like $230. I remember reading that the lights were activated by movement and decided that was too expensive of technology for me. LOL!

I feel like that's one of the potential selling points for me, though my cat would abuse the shit out of it when he figured it out (and he would).

I own no statues, so the heaviest things going in any of those would be the MAS Prime and Megatron, and the sheer volume of TMNT figures (but they'd be spaced out, as I LOATHE cluttered displays).

None of the vehicles or dios I have are that heavy, so I don't think sagging shelves would be an issue.

One review I watched, the person said he set the lights to always on, and linked it to his Alexa so he could just turn them on at once with all his other lights. I suppose doing something like that with power strips and a switch would also work instead of the lights going on and off when pets constantly run by. I have 2 cats, and I know they'll be down there once they finally settle after we move them over.
