A bold opinion, but I'm not against it. Just curious- what is your ranking?
1: Asylum. I think it has the tightest story, lots to do but you don't get too sidetracked from the main idea. Die Hard in Arkham never gets old, to me. There admittedly might be some nostalgia talking, as well. Everything to do with Scarecrow is top tier, and just like a lot of others I got duped into thinking my game had glitched lol This is, in some aspects, a horror game (or at least horror-coded). Love this.
2. Origins. It's more or less the same map as City, so you get all of the open world trappings that City offered but you get to do it in snow. It has my favorite Batsuit of the series, Bane is most like his comics self here (until the very very end, if I recall - it's been a while). And this is controversial I'm sure, but I dig having other voice actors for Batman and Joker. Conroy and Hamill are the goats, of course, but Conroy was starting to sound old by the time of the Arkham series and you can hear it. Origins gave some new blood. It also introduced the "crime scene investigation" aspect, where you could scan the scene and rewind things and piece out what was going on. It also gives us (imo) the best boss battle of the entire series with Deathstroke. It's too bad they only used that particular type of boss once, although Copperhead was also tough.
3. City. Not much to say about it that hasn't already been said elsewhere. The map is fantastic, the story is pretty good although I've never been the biggest fan of Hugo Strange. I feel like the game gets bogged down a bit when you go to underground Gotham, or whatever it's called, and you're fighting the League of Shadows. The boss battle with Freeze is up there with Origins Deathstroke, though. More bosses needed to be like these two. Also - did anyone else almost shit themselves when the shark attacks? No? Just me? Moving on.
4. Knight. If they had done something different with the Batmobile stuff, or cut the battles out altogether and just let you drive it, then this would be higher. Might even be #1. The story is fun and engaging even though we all knew who Arkham Knight was before the game came out. I had avoided all spoilers and info on the game to go into it fresh, so the Joker reveal early on legit caught me by surprise and I thought that added a ton of fun to the game, having him just randomly show up on building ledges and on street corners to taunt you. This game, for me, would have been a 10/10 without the Batmobile missions. Maybe it's not so bad if you don't hunt down every single trophy, but I wanted the best ending so I actually did the 100% thing on this one. It took. Me. Forever. Those damn riddler trophies you could only get with the car were brutal. It felt SO GODDAMN SATISFYING to finally get to Riddler and beat the shit out of him.
Personally, I think all of these games are stellar and ranking them is hard because they are all so good. Knight being last is in no way an indicator of its quality, but something has to go in that spot.
I haven't played Arkham VR, and I have Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League but I've never played it. Picked it up on a sale for $2 on the Xbox store and figured that was a fair price given the reviews lol I should be able to find $2 worth of fun out of it for an hour or two.
