I wish this line would just get back to PlunderLINGS, I liked the wacky little gobbos, they were fun to pose, very expressive, colorful… just fun toys.
I would continue to buy PlunderLINGS in any colors they want to keep squirting out…
I wasn’t as impressed with the Longs and Strongs
I was hoping Strongs would be to Big Cartoony Ogres what rhe ‘Lings were to Cute Cartoony Gobbos… but they’re hard to pose and not very fun in hand, plus he doesn’t feel as “generic” as the Plunderlings, it feels like five of the same guy in different colors (like pretending a Kenner Batman collection wad nine different heroes) I bought in big in the Kickstarter but aside from Skiff (wearing Blackjack’s hat and coat and holding his canon in his own non-canon hand) and the Drench, I’ve retired them all to a bin now…
Longs never impressed me much but I still bought and display three. Plunderlong more so than Plunderstrong always struct me as “a guy” so Ojoe was the only one I needed, 8-ball having a totally different outfit, theme, and helmet that covered half his face made him feel like a different unique guy… and the Drench just lives with the Drenches so at least he’s a unique color and shape among them…
I still feel like Ojoe is missing something though, I keep thinking maybe I’ll buy the Zorro-esque ‘Long and cannibalize him for parts like I did to Blackjack for Skiff… or maybe wait for the Pelican to go on sale and give him a puffy white shirt, boots, gloves, and a little half vest… but as he is he’s like half way there I feel…
The Birds do nothing for me, I don’t like they have shoes (the whole fun of birds is claws), I don’t like their pterodactyl noses, I don’t like the Stikfa wings… I hope other people enjoy them but they’re not for me.
Looking forward to the Frogs though, they seem to have the gobbo energy that drew me to line to begin with
