Plunderlings

The helmets are a neat idea, because you can use them and not have them look like Frog's. The four arms is an odd choice, but not a bad one imo.

I think Plunderlings might be my favorite toyline that I do not collect. I fucking love seeing pictures of these goofy little guys. For me, this line is a victim of the general economic collapse of the last few years and skyrocketing prices. For how much these cost with shipping and exchange rate, I just can't justify it. But I love them so much, and I just wanted to chime in to encourage you guys to take pictures of your Plunderlings and post them for the benefit of those of us that only get to enjoy them through your photos.

I have one that I keep displayed, and I'm getting one specifically just to play around with. They're very fun.

Does anyone else buy any of these? My kids and I have a handful. I just got one of the birds and he is pretty fun. It had a map with a QR code that lead to a video an at the end of the video was another code but that lead to a FB page. Trying to make sure I am not missing a neat freebie. They previously gave away a free golden plundering if you solved a puzzle.

Stooooop. I don't want to be convinced to buy any of these.
Everyone just stop talking about them so I can forget they exist. Kthanksbye.

I currently have 2. The green plunderling on a shelf, and the purple one to play around with sometimes. They're neat figures. Might pick up a bird.

I have a small army of the OG Plunderlings, and a couple each of the 'Long and 'Strong (even managed to grab a Fawn 'Strong off Amazon this week for $20).
I have 2 of the 'Beaks coming; Longbill and Flynch. Coming via UPS from Florida, and estimated to arrive on the 29th.

I wasn't as impressed with the Longs and Strongs as I was with the actual Plunderlings, but between Robo and sirdork's videos on the birds, I'm hoping I'll be happy with them.

I wish this line would just get back to PlunderLINGS, I liked the wacky little gobbos, they were fun to pose, very expressive, colorful… just fun toys.

I would continue to buy PlunderLINGS in any colors they want to keep squirting out…

I wasn’t as impressed with the Longs and Strongs

I was hoping Strongs would be to Big Cartoony Ogres what rhe ‘Lings were to Cute Cartoony Gobbos… but they’re hard to pose and not very fun in hand, plus he doesn’t feel as “generic” as the Plunderlings, it feels like five of the same guy in different colors (like pretending a Kenner Batman collection wad nine different heroes) I bought in big in the Kickstarter but aside from Skiff (wearing Blackjack’s hat and coat and holding his canon in his own non-canon hand) and the Drench, I’ve retired them all to a bin now…

Longs never impressed me much but I still bought and display three. Plunderlong more so than Plunderstrong always struct me as “a guy” so Ojoe was the only one I needed, 8-ball having a totally different outfit, theme, and helmet that covered half his face made him feel like a different unique guy… and the Drench just lives with the Drenches so at least he’s a unique color and shape among them…

I still feel like Ojoe is missing something though, I keep thinking maybe I’ll buy the Zorro-esque ‘Long and cannibalize him for parts like I did to Blackjack for Skiff… or maybe wait for the Pelican to go on sale and give him a puffy white shirt, boots, gloves, and a little half vest… but as he is he’s like half way there I feel…

The Birds do nothing for me, I don’t like they have shoes (the whole fun of birds is claws), I don’t like their pterodactyl noses, I don’t like the Stikfa wings… I hope other people enjoy them but they’re not for me.

Looking forward to the Frogs though, they seem to have the gobbo energy that drew me to line to begin with

I have a few. The names I can remember are Fwush, Goyle, and the Golden Idol that was the giveaway. I also have Captain Blackjack and 8-ball. I ordered one of the purple birds more out a calling to support the line and less out of interest in the product, which is kind of dumb. I do think it looks fine, but I assume it’s just a Long body with wings and a bird head. I wasn’t impressed with the Strong and I do agree the line has kind of strayed from that cute aspect the Lings had. The frogs look interesting, but what I really want are new Ling portraits. Maybe some with their ears pitched back or more cartoonish expressions.

I got Quervo in today, several days ahead of the estimate, but I guess UPS is treating every package as something that should be delivered before Christmas. I am surprised at how much I love this guy. The paint on his beak is so good and the Long body works really well. I do wish he could wield his sword in a traditional manner as the hilt is too chunky to grip, but it’s different and cool as-is. My daughter loved the little movie and is demanding that I get a Frog when they go up.
