Operation Monster Force

I have a concept of a plan for doing matching file cards for the Joes, Action Force, and Monster Force characters to place them all in my shared-universe head canon, but then I realize it'd be work and move along.

You're right. I started doing the cards when I owned like the classified figures, and kept it going with each purchase. I'm not sure I would start that now with all the figures have at this point. But maybe because it's fun and the cards are a big part of the collection for me.

That is my goal at some point. Right now Monster Force is in a room at the opposite end of the house from GI Joe. They all mesh so well together that I want to just merge Monster Force into the GI Joe universe. There are already plenty of supernatural aspects in GI Joe so it isn't a stretch to think that the Forgotten King and Dracula exist in that universe as well.

Eyeballing a couple of these because Ru and Justice got me addicted to writing knockoff file cards for non-existent characters over in the Joes forum. They scale okay with Hasbro stuff? Any waves to avoid because of learning curve/quality issues as they got started?
They look like an extension of the Joe universe IMO. If you were to stick one in the middle of the Joe display and ask which one didn't belong, most people aren't going to be able to point it out. No QC issues on the first releases that I am aware of, at least I didn't have any. I haven't bought any of the re-release season 1 figures though. They are very well-engineered figures.

This. Five minutes after opening the 4 season 1 figures I'd gotten, I ordered two more vamp soldiers, and decided I was all-in on the line (I still have to go back & get the 3 soldiers I passed on in s1, but couldn't afford them all at the time, and definitely can't yet now).

I want to keep ALL of my preorders for season 2, but I'm going to have trouble with a single figure if I can't sell some shit (or my income improves) before they hit... 😰
Brother, I feel this in my SOUL! Personal finances have really forced me to scale back the last year or so. The tariff bullshit and out-of-control inflation don't help the situation. I know I'm blessed to even be able to have a hobby, unlike many who are struggling just to feed their families, but it still sucks to make a decent salary and have it all evaporate because bills keep piling up.

I added Declan and a vampire soldier to my POL on impulse as it was ready to ship and they were in stock and just cracked them open. These really are superb figures, but quick question - should I do anything to treat the paint to keep it from chipping? The hands and weapons feel like they're prime for the old Mythic Legions "oops there goes the paint on his fingers" accident. (I think casting gripping hands in their base color is my #1 preference for any figure these days.) Do they need a bit of varnish or matte spray for safety?

Also, anyone got a trick for popping those buttons back into place? I tried taking the vest off one figure and sweatin' trying to pop it back in. (though they frankly look amazing without the vests, too.)

If I get some of these, and no one answers this... I better keep the vest on apparently!

The buttons are actually super sturdy, too, but the shape is designed to keep them from popping out on you so it’s tough popping back in.

Robo's videos always sell me on things.

I really earned my rep as an easy mark of a collector. “I’m just going to buy one for a GI Joe stand-in.”

Get one in hand
Adds Dracula to cart
Starts search for werewolf
Contemplates picking up the secret agent
Notices the chimp in a tuxedo from the sister line of figures….

The Monkey guys are neat. They've got a few in the smaller scale already. Can't wait to get one in 1/12.
