Operation Monster Force

Yeah, when I saw the price increase on these I had half a second of like "WTF that sucks" and then I was like "dude, you bought two Savage Crucible figures on a WHIM last month, come on now, who are you kidding." Just glad the lines that cost more I'm able to cherry pick and impulse buy, instead of a line where I need to be completionist about it like an X-Men or Justice League or Street Fighter lineup.

For perspective, I  started adult figure collecting with 2nd hand MotUC  after the line had ended. My sense of figure value has been skewed from the beginning.

That’s making it sound like the next wave isn’t going to be much further behind this massive dump of figures. Hopefully it’s not until next year at least. Nothing for years and then too much all at once. Collecting is a strange hobby haha.

Not to bring up old arguments, but another relevant point of view I didn't see to the whole situation is:

When I preordered these figures, I had the best paying full-time job of my life.

Now that they're dropping, I have a part-time job that doesn't even cover all of my living expenses, and I've been trying to sell shit that no one is buying at loss prices, in order to afford new things.

Plus, when I got the four figures I initially wanted out of wave 1 before I fell in love with the line as a whole, and then two more troop builders of one of the four I already had, not only was I gainfully employed, but BBTS also offered Sezzle payment plans, which helped me get WAY more than I'd EVER been able to before, and I was cancelling fewer & fewer preorders because of that. They no longer support Sezzle, and my credit is too horrendous thanks to unemployment in the shittiest richest country on the planet to try to now use Sezzle's "virtual cards" on there, either.

Maybe but these types of photos came out for wave 2 back in February. They’re still probably 6 months out.

Plus we’ve gotten no photos like this for crimson moon yet either

Speaking of Crimson Moon, with my incoming SNAKE armor it got me thinking that if money and space were of no consequence, I'd absolutely buy a second one to paint into this

Man, I couldn't imagine a more insane way to start collecting, lol. I'm not sure if the aftermarket has come down at all with the likes of Masterverse out there now, but some of those eBay prices on MOTUC were nuts at one point.

I'm still ashamed at myself for what I paid for She-Ra's horse...

I think the reason I almost never have a bad thing to say about Masterverse is because I started collecting as an adult, looked at MOTU at that scale, saw after-market Classics prices, and just assumed I would never, ever, ever own a He-Man at that scale.

(Speaking of weird intros to adult collecting, when I discovered Star Wars Black Series you couldn't get Han, Artoo, and a few other core, must-have figures for under 80 or a 100 bucks. It's wild to me how that line went from sort of intentionally making important characters scarce to just... releasing a better version of every character every few years, over and over again... )

It's $50 more than the regular one.

I would just like one regular one. 🥺

EDIT: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA, I'm fucking R-worded. That's a Super 7 one, my bad.

It came up when Preternia alerted that more of the Classified one were back in stock (missed, of course).

The thumbnail view of Pulse in general doesn't say it's Super7, and I don't like how it looks, so I didn't delve deeper, and the thumbnail, especially on mobile, looks like the Classified "vehicle & accessory" layout.

Going back to why all this OMF shit dropping at once is fucking bullshit, if you fucking wait, everything fucking sells out.

I get that no company wants unsold shit going on clearance, but selling bare minimum, while there are still fucking people who want them (or y'know...FUTURE customers!?!?) isn't a much better option, either.

Fuck all companies, fuck all corporations, fuck all executives, fuck Capitalism, fuck money, it isn't fucking real.

I just want to fucking die because of all of it.

I still think one of the more annoying aspects of monster force is all the influencers getting it a month or so ahead of time.

I know it’s to sell figures but man it stings with a two year wait

I ended up canceling all of my pre-orders and I have to say it is a HUGE weight off me. That was such a huge chunk of money that I no longer need to worry about spending. I'm not saying I won't pick some of these up in the future if they hang around, but I'm not FOMOing and trying to get everything that is hitting as soon as it comes out.
