NECA - General Thread

Don't really know all that much about the Conjuring movies; I've seen the first 2 and liked them well enough. I got the previous figures just because the franchise is such a horror staple anymore, but as someone who kept seeing the Crooked Man figure before I saw the movie, and then seeing that he's barely in the movie, I was definitely a bit disappointed. A cool, kooky design for a creature, though. Like Slenderman and Jack Skellington had a wild night together.

At first glance seeing the new figure, I thought they reused some parts from the Faun from Pan's Labyrinth, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Cool enough design; maybe if he ever goes on sale, I'll pick him up.

Didn't it have 4 horns in the 1st 2 films and just the longer 2 in Comes Home?
Malthus had two smaller goat-like horns in the front of his forehead, and then swooped back ram-like horns behind those, in the first couple of screen appearances. He doesn't have the forehead horns in Comes Home, and the ram type horns are more prominent and sweep out to the sides of his head, like the figure here.

The "Goat Demon" in the Nun 2 also has four horns, but that is a separate character from Malthus.

You're not missing out. I'm not much of a Conjuring-verse fan to begin with, but the Nun was quite the nothingburger to me.

The first Nun film had a real Hammer vibe to it. Nothing great, but it was entertaining. The second one I barely remember.

I haven't seen ANY of those connected films, but I grabbed one of the Annabelle figures on sale, because who doesn't need a creepy haunted doll in their toy display?

It makes for a great item for the Ghostbusters to investigate, if nothing else. ;)

On a related note, is the Gremlins line done with new figures? And have they ever said anything about re-releasing the earlier 2010s Mogwai and Gremlins?
