NECA - General Thread

The press release said they were doing multiple lines. This appears to be a sampling of what to expect. It's crazy, but they're going to sell a bunch of those Ben Cooper figs because of the buckets.

ill pass on the Duck tales, no interest from me. i do want McD figures. the fortnite turts look pretty good except for splinter. the 3 jason figures, hell yea!!!

In this video, Trevor said Duck Tales is the start of the afternoon cartoon figures. It sounded like Tailspin could be coming at some point. Between these, McDonald's, and the Sesame Street and Muppets lines, NECA will be getting lots of my money in 2026 and 2027 (and hopefully beyond).

The guy represents Neca at toy fair at their booth and when asked, when does the figure come out? he says: " i think in the summer"
I HATE when they say that, didnt you do your homework before standing at the booth, ugh.

He's a designer. A separate department coordinates release. They're also probably trying to line-up an exclusive window like they often do via Target and its Haulathon stuff. Toy Fair is for them to sell to retailers, after all.

Alright, so the Friday the 13th piece is literally just the shrine. Which is cool, I'm going to buy it, I'm a sucker, but I was hoping for a little more.

The interesting thing is that they're marketing it specifically as being from Friday the 13th: The Game, and I'm just saying, if they want a cheap counselor pack where they don't have to even pay likeness rights for anyone...

I played the shit out of the game.

I was usually short shorts girl because she was sassy and could run. I would buy her in a heartbeat.

I mastered killing Jason, first to the sweater to kick it off. Love trolling a trolling Jason with a chase.

That game had so many emergent moments and helped me get more into the genre itself (I hate certain gore and jump scares). One time we fixed the boat and left the third guy behind because Jason was coming. Jason swam after us and we exited by a pixel.

Another time we grabbed the four seater car in a panic (there's also a two seater with a full back seat), but thought it was the two so I left two other counselors behind to die.

And then had amble opportunities to pick up others along the escape, but I gotta look out for my short shorts and myself.

God, I loved it. And again, not super deep in the franchise and really not one for PvP. But it was magic.

Doesn't look like any new Universal Monsters/ Hammer Horror stuff besides the B&W Red Death -- which, if I may be super pedantic for a second, makes no sense: that scene was in color:

Hoping this isn't indicative that those licenses are running out of steam ... they're some of my favorite action figures, period, I would've been all-in on more monsters/ variants from later sequels (Glenn Strange Frankenstein, "Son of Frankenstein" Karloff).

Welp, just 5 short months until SDCC. If we don't see anything then, I'd say it's over. I think Hammer is done regardless, but...Universal, might be able to squeeze a bit of juice out of.

It was specified in the YHS walkthrough that the source of the new Jason figures is indeed the game renders as opposed to the films.
