Yeah, came to $190 for me so I decided to opt out. I just don't want these that much. I didn't have any trouble adding them and getting to that point so hopefully everyone who wants this set gets it. First SDCC toon set I'm passing on. Almost feels a little liberating.
Yes, highly unusual for a TMNT toon set on day one when quantities are often at their most limited. On day 3, less of a surprise as they seem to reserve the most units for the last day of the sale. Demand may be a little soft for this set compared to others, and they also probably produced a lot since the toon turtles are often a strong seller.
That exclusive set looks like a ton of fun, but I've got the Mirage gangsters in my BBTS cart right now and had to debate between the two and I think gangsters will get more shelf-play than beach outfits. Seeing how much the tariffs and shipping nudged up the cost, I'm okay skipping, as fun as it is.
I wonder if attendees at the convention will have to pay the tariff surcharge? This set does make me wish NECA still stocked these at Target. If I saw this on the shelf for $150 I might be able to talk myself into it with it right there staring me in the face. As an abstract thing online that will cost nearly 200 dollars and not be here for a month it's surprisingly easy to say "No, thanks." As silly as it is, if it was confirmed the clothing elements could all be removed easily I'd possibly reconsider my stance, even though we're almost sure to get standard turtles on this buck in the not too distant future.
I got it. I had already bought the set. I emailed them to see if they’d apply it anyway. It said in one of the emails that duplicate orders would be canceled, so I didn’t order a second one with the code.
This is where I flat out admit it ABSOLUTELY worked on me. I was no way going to spend 200 bucks on the set, but I could eat the shipping and tariffs if the figures themselves were a little over 100 bucks. They're going to go on a shelf with the Jaws figures. My new summertime display.
I emailed Neca to make sure I'm going to get the refund. If not I'm going to Neca HQ with all this cardboard razor wire I've collected and there's going to be hell to pay.
Neca already emailed and confirmed that I'll be received a $40 refund. I'm shocked that they got back to me that quickly. That is very unlike Neca. My cardboard razor wire will remain blood-free. For now.
Yeah, they are known for a lot of things, but addressing customer concerns over email in a timely manner is definitely not one of them. Seems like it would be a lot easier to just slash the price by 40 bucks, no?
