Naughty or Nice by Fresh Monkey Fiction

Looked at the D13 line. It might just be the soft goods but everything looks a bit too Buddy Christ Mego. I'm envisioning something more Frazetta Girls or Harbinger.
We have a thread for it here: https://articulatedthoughts.com/threads/biblical-adventures.206/

Almost all of the designs are based on classic Christian artwork and sculptures so it reflects styles from fairly modern interpretations to Orthodox iconography and renaissance paintings. A couple look like the "Buddy Christ" design mainly because that look was based on a portrait that became popular in the early/mid 1900's, which both D13 and whoever created that for Dogma used.

The soft goods was pretty much required though - both for potential posing and range of movement but also the owner wanted to build around a single buck and couldn't have produced as wide a range with unique clothing that was sculpted - typical for a small company. Soft goods always struggle a bit, but flowing robes/gowns/etc don't work in hard plastic. The expectation is the next Kickstarter will likely include a wider range of sources and stories - the owner did mention things like David and Goliath and is hoping to have a female and a larger male buck for the next round.

Is anyone else crazy like me and ordered 9 of the reindeer? I like having a full set, but I think I would prefer the colors weren't so different between the 4 different reindeer. It's nice that each reindeer has a uniquely painted head (though that probably isn't obvious to anyone who isn't closely inspecting them). And, I like that all the bodies are not exactly the same color, especially considering the sculpts are all the same except for the antlers. I just wish the difference in color wasn't quite so dramatic. The color difference is a little more obvious having two of each figure. Overall, I'm happy to have 9 reindeer ready for Santa's sleigh to arrive shortly after Christmas.

Also notable that a common complaint from far-righters is that “woke” folks are making their identities “their whole personality”, and then the same far-righters embrace BibleMan-like “whole personality” indoctrination.

It’s always “I know you are, but what am I?” with these guys.

And yeah, “you shouldn’t force any religion at all on kids” sounds like a controversial stance, but I can easily back it up clinically.
I saw a meme the other day that summed it up perfectly:

Conservatives: This is how we want to live our lives.

Everyone else: So do it.

Conservatives: No, you guys have to do it, too, or it doesn't count.

I too have all 9 Reindeer. I think they look fine as a team by pairing the colors up two-by-two and changing the antlers. But my long term intention is to have them all in a stable with the sleigh in the middle, getting ready to go, more than as a full team. (This might take me years to execute...but I will need something to do in my dotage...)

I already have the full team and sleigh from the Rudolph figures which takes up plenty of space.

I'm like @AceofKnaves I thought hard abotu going all in but decided against it.
I currently have the head pack, and 1 deer. I wanted Rudolph to go with my Santa. I would like to have them all.
This is what I almost did. Had the preorders and all, and then cancelled them because I still think it'd take up too much space on my shelf. I might go back to it if they did a robo-deer for my cyborg Santa. Or some sort of really shitty deer for my mall Santa. Not holding my breath though.

Oh I hope you do get this done. That sounds like an awesome dio.

Once I got into an argument with a stranger who was complaining that no Marvel superheros were Christian, and I pointed out DD. And this dude was like "I said CHRISTIAN!" and it took a few back and forths to realize that this person was so ignorant they didn't realize Catholicism was a Christian denomination. And no, it wasn't what you're thinking, a protestant so aggressively in their 'one true way' that they thoguht all other sects were evil. This person just legitimately knew so little they had no idea Catholic was Christian. Just total smoothbrained isolationism. A casual religious person who was in it enough to want to be part of the outrage, but uninformed enough to have no idea just how braindead they sounded. Even got angry at one point "Then why don't they just call it Christian!!!"
I've known a few folks who don't believe Catholics to be Christians, which is beyond dumb.
Though the way they fixed it was strange, I'm very glad the comics eventually gave Kurt the origin Claremont envisioned. I was really not into the idea that he was an actual demon because, like, the whole point is you aren't supposed to judge the dude by his looks. Making him a descendant of a demon is directly antithetical to the whole point of the character. Uggh. Didn't they also eventually do that same shit with Angel? Make him actually an angel or whatever? Maybe I'm misremembering.
I wasn't aware they had made him an "actual" demon, but it's certainly possible as there are gaps in my reading of X books. I know at one point they retconned him to be the son of the mutant Azazel, which was really dumb because they implied Azazel was ancient and the basis of all the stories about demons. In doing so, they completely ignored the hundreds of stories Marvel already had featuring actual demonic characters like Mephisto, Marduk Kurios (who went by "Satan"), Azrael, Satannish, Belasco, etc.. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the demon Azazel from Jewish folklore had already been brought in to Marvel continuity as well, so....yeah, it made zero sense and most fans instantly ignored it. If they went so far as to make him an actual demon....that is beyond dumb. The fact all this nonsense has sense been retconned to Claremont's original idea that Kurt is the son of Mystique and Destiny, which Claremont had strongly hinted at even back in the day, is a very good thing.

I'm not aware of the Angel retcon, but it wouldn't surprise me. Hopefully that has also been wiped away by later writers.

Well of all the financially irresponsible and generally crazy things one could do... Who on earth besides you would do something like that???

Definitely not me.....

I have 9.

Man, I'd genuinely LOVE to have 9 reindeer. As I'm getting out my Christmas stuff and looking at my 2 reindeer I was literally JUST thinking about buying a third. But Lord, that's so much space and money. Especially for something I'll only have out for like two months out of the year.

...still might order a third though... especially since I'd like a Dasher since he's kind of the "standard" color reindeer. Last year I got too tight on funds when they dropped and had to cancel my preorders, so when I finally ordered them I just had to jump on what was available and got Donner and Prancer.

I've got one of each reindeer plus the headpack. Four really ought to be enough reindeer.

Sometimes I admit I feel a temptation to get five more reindeer for the full team, especially since I already have the head pack (which went completely unused because I decided against Rudolph-ing Dasher), but then I think about where the hell there would be a space big enough for the sleigh pulled by nine reindeer, and that getting the other 5 is spending another $225 bucks for plastic deer. That usually keeps me away from the preorder button.

Ah yeah, I'm misremembering then. For whatever reason I thought they'd made comic Azazel an actual demon, not just a super old mutant who inspired demons. That's not exactly better, just a different kind of dumb. I feel like they've done the super old mutant strain thing elsewhere too. Wasn't there a wolverine enemy like that?

Anyway, him being the kid of Raven and Destiny, aces. Glad that's where it all landed, even if it was the long extremely weird road to get there.
