Muppets (including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)

I pre-ordered the 4 basic Fraggle Rock figures and plan to use the originals and new series Mokey for customizing, assuming the joints don't break. Currently, I'm thinking Cantus, Convincing John, Large Marvin, and the World's Oldest Fraggle. Is there another classic Fraggle character I should do?

I'd be hard pressed to name another Fraggle besides Gobo, Mokey, Boober, Wembly, Red, and Uncle Matt. If I was going to use new Mokey for a custom, I'd consider Hilda from the Muppet Show.

Thanks for this suggestion! I've been stumped on who to use to make Hilda. I'll have an extra Gobo that I think will work. I just hope the joints hold up to the customizing.

Now where are those NECA Sesame Street figures?

I heard (very back channel) that Sesame Street is concerned after seeing fan photography of their characters in certain sexual & violent scenarios they didn't anticipate. If that's true, pretty thin imagination in the CTW hallways and I can't imagine the same thing hasn't been happening for years with plush.

Also, it's NECA - they mostly make monsters, so what did they expect?

Anyway, hoping nothing has derailed the license. I am dying to get my hands on everthing Sesame Stret NECA has shown and so much more. Figures crossed!

I saw that posted somewhere else, too. Maybe on Reddit. Though, I thought the poster said they were just joking. I could definitely see Sesame Street Workshop not being happy with their characters being shown in such a way. But, I don't know how widely any of the figure photography is reaching. I assume not too many eyes are seeing any of those images. There is a definite tension though with creating adult-targeted merchandise for a very much child-targeted IP.

I definitely hope that the delay is due to some temporary issue, like the designs needing additional small tweaks, and not some bigger issue with the license or with NECA. I want so many more figures! I think Toy Fair in February will be telling.

Apparently, Big Bird is next and due out early 2026. After that, it will be a figure that hasn't been shown yet. I wonder if it's Cookie Monster to give them another popular character to raise interest in the line. Maybe they're concerned a less well-known character, like Herry, won't sell well. Or, maybe the figure after Big Bird just didn't require as much reworking and moved into production faster.

I'm hoping 2026 is a big year for the line. I'd love to get at least 5 more figures by the end of the year.

He did mention how they had a string of blue monsters planned and decided they needed to adjust things, hence Frazzle - I took that to mean Herry, Grover and Cookie were all on the list. If Oscar was going to anchor he next wave, but they mentioned needing to revise him (or Herry) - possibly that moved up Cookie?

Interesting Grover and Mr. Johnson will be a two pack.

One more thing, he mentioned having a list of all the letters (which I took to mean they have images of the Muppet letters, not needing a list to remember the alphabet) - curious if they have plotted out 36 potential characters (26 letters and 10 numbers) as a tentative list...

Glad to hear some news about the line, and that 2026 will see in uptick in releases. Pumped for the accessory pack. I really really wish more companies did them. I guess for some folks extra accessories just take up space in a bin somewhere, but I think they bring so much to the table... I can constantly refresh my display or build out dioramas.

I wonder how much Big Bird will run... I'm guessing $50, maybe, though I remember the good ol' days when Chrome Dome was what, like, $39?

Just to temper expectations a standard figure cost $50 now (that new Conjuring Demon or the Badlands Predator), a not that much larger then regular figure like Speedo Ace Duck runs $50, a standard figure with little buddy pack-ins cost $50 (Super Turtle, Granny April, and Casey Marie), times are a changing, don’t be surprised if Big Bird runs $80-100 like Krampus and Der Klown and those big boy Predators

I'm also expecting Big Bird to cost at least $80. Bbts has the other three figures at around $40. From the interview, it sounds like it will come with two heads and the teddy bear. Does anyone know how tall the figure will be? I think the Palisades Sweetums is 11 inches tall. Big Bird is taller than Sweetums, right? To fit with the Palisades line (I realize the Sweetums figure is undersized compared to the other Palisades figures), I think Big Bird needs to be about a foot tall. That'll be an expensive figure.

I like the idea of a accessories pack, too. I'm curious about the costs versus perceived value of accessories that come with figures. How profitable are 'deluxe' figures that come with tons of accessories vs basic figures with few or none? Personally, I like having more options in spending. I can buy just the figure or the figure plus an accessory pack. Given the reactions I've read for the BFS Hell Boy and jacket accessory set, it seems like there are complaints either way.

Big Bird is huge compared the rest of the Muppets - he is officially a bit over 8 ft tall. He should be at least twice the height of Bert, probably closer to 2 1/3 times... I doubt they will go that tall.

Trevor Zammit said during one of the booth tour videos a while back that Big Bird will be a bit undersized.
