Mezco 1:12 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Oh that is so sexy... my best friend is in love with Shredder and I know she'll find that scar cute. Splendid rendition. I wonder if they'd ever do an April and Karai? The Mirage inspirations these have is exactly what I want for my collection, so those two getting releases would be a dream come true. Only reason I never picked up the Turtles set is because they lean too much into first appearance styling for my tastes.
 
Very happy that Shredder comes with the grenades he uses to kill himself in issue 1. Seeing that and a cartoon communicator side by side is funny, I like all the included options a lot. Didn't expect a full on mirage style shadowy face head. Mezco's killing it!
 
I agree, I'd like him to be just a tad bulkier, but with them skewing towards an early Mirage mixed a bit with IDW, the leaner build makes perfect sense. And it matches how they stylized all the Turtles, with them hardcore being early Mirage and all.

Casey's kinda the odd one out so far, with him being more so inspired by the later proper arcs of the Mirage run. I can't complain though, that's my ideal Casey.
 
I feel like his robe is a bit too short...might be showing off those rat goods.

I may get this one, I want to see what alternate heads he ends up having. If any.

Splinter went up for PO today, for about $116 or so? I’m not seeing the value. The NECA Mirage version is about $35 and also comes with a cloth goods gi. Are the accessories that plentiful? Is it all because of a new unique sculpt that won’t get much reuse? I just think the price is insane.

That's the new Mezco MSRP on the past several drops. Sucks.

And I think the NECA looks better in the limbs and proportions. This one continues the tradition of big Mezco heads. I like the alternate portraits, weapons, and baby turtles.

But I POed elsewhere, because he's a radical rat.
 
I think Mezco is very much a company that sees its price point as part of the brand. If it was cheaper then the product would appear cheaper (I'm not arguing this is a good or smart thing). Splinter looks fine, but yeah, he doesn't look much different from the NECA Mirage Splinter and they even share some accessories. I can't get to a place where this figure is $80 better than that one, but I'm also not really a Mezco collector and don't have any of their turtles.
