McFarlane DC Multiverse

FedEx blew me off yesterday. But Cyborg Superman got delivered today. This is such a great figure.

I think I’d like to see Todd lean into the Superman Family in his last year on the license.

I'll be really disappointed if we don't get a Lois. Comic. Brosnahan from movie. Both. Something. Please.

At this point anything else we could get would have to at least be already scheduled for production. Lois is definitely a huge oversight, but we know how Todd feels about female characters and civilians in general, so it's probably not likely. I'd love to see a Daily Bugle box set personally. The silver age Jimmy Olsen and Perry White that DC Direct did years ago might still be my favorite DC figures in my collection. I've seen lots of rumors from solicitation lists out at least a good six months and nothing like this has appeared on any of those as of yet.

I received Hank Henshaw Cyborg Supes a few days ago and it's a fine figure but I still strongly prefer the Zor-El Cyborg Supes figure from a year or two ago.

Did DCD ever do a decent Lois?
They did 3 different Loises that I specifically recall. There was a Silver Age 2-pack with Superman in her reporter attire. That's the only civilian look that I remember and was my favorite. Unfortunately I sold that one off for reasons that I can't remember, but now very much regret as it goes for around $75 now. In the same Silver Age wave that had Jimmy and Perry they did her in a green superwoman costume and I don't think that I ever owned that one. Later they did her as Superwoman in red, blue and yellow from a more modern comic (All Star Superman, I think where she had Clark's powers for a day). I still have that one. I wish that I still had the Silver Age civilian version. Of course they also did a couple of different Elseworlds versions of Lois as Superwoman but I'm not counting those. They did a LUCY Lane Superwoman also. I still have all of the latter 3 that like I said I don't actually count. They did do at least one modern animated version of Lois that wasn't too bad, but I think it goes for well over $200 now and I never bought it.

I recommend the below website for a full inventory of all DC Direct / DC Collectibles figures over the years. I didn't go back and look through it for other Lois figures, but if they were made they'd be there:

The most important supporting character in Superman lore should have her own action figure, no doubt. But any company with the DC toy license has been reluctant to do it and you're setting yourself up for disappointment hoping that Todd will be the one to break that streak. Do yourself a favor and get a DC Direct Felicity Smoak, put a McFarlane unmasked Batwoman Beyond head on it and call it good. I don't have a pic but I did it and it works out great. Zero mods needed.

Thank you for all this research. It will be useful as I now put feelers out to the local scene.

And thank you for this recipe. I have Batwoman, and I shall now look for Smoak. Really want somebody to go with my Silver Age Supes.

I feel like Todd could maaaybe double dip on Fleischer somehow with a Lois pack. But yeah.

Rebellions are built on hope.

The way I see it is it took Todd five years to make supporting characters. Starting with movie Lucius Fox (interestingly enough), followed by some movie Alfreds. Year six is when we got the first comic supporting character, Jim Gordon. Which is sensible. If you listen to the rumor mill, next up is a GA Steve Trevor. Considering Mattel didn’t make any supporting characters until 2019 (last year of their original license), I’d say Todd’s doing OK on supporting cast.

I stopped at 3 Walmarts on my way to work. My local Walmart had Jade & Armored Hal Jordan. I picked up Jade and the figure wasn't in the system when I checked out. The associates couldn't find it on their devices. They asked me how much it was and I said $19.99, so that's what I paid. The next Walmart had 2 Jade figures, Armored Hal & B&W Jim Gordon. I scanned the figures with the Walmart app on my phone and Jim Gordon was the only one that showed up. I decided to pick up another Jade and the Armored Hal. Hal rang up but Jade wasn't in the system. The associate asked if they were the same price and I said yes, so I got Jade for the same price as Hal. Turns out they are $22.97. The last Walmart had Jade, Hal, Batman, Gordon & Bizarro, so I picked up Batman, Gordon & Bizarro.

Cyborg Superman finally arrived! Shipped from Gamestop a week ago, and ended up making a giant circle around the US. But, he finally landed...and he is glorious.

I had a 2x Bizarro order with GameStop that upon looking again actually says “Bizarro OR Chase”.
Well, my box had one Bizarro and one Eradicator! So that worked out very well.

Don’t have Eradicator yet, but Bizarro and Cyborg Superman are among the best figures Todd has done. I know I’m a broken record on this, but it really will be a shame if Todd is out after next year. He’s hitting his stride now.

Jade is beautiful. Cowardly Lot Batman is almost perfect. SA Superman is magnificent. And Dr. Fate is absolutely perfect. And as goofy as it is, I personally really like the Cowboy Batman. 2025 has been home run after home run. Starting with Wildcat and Orion.
