McFarlane DC Multiverse

I was at a local shop with a bunch of loose McFarlane stuff. They had both electric Superman figures, blue and red, for $25 a piece but only one set of electric effects. Ideally I want my figures complete, so I had to choose one. Even though I kind of like Blue better, I went with Red because Blue will be cheaper to find on the aftermarket. I never found either in stores.

On the scale of difficult decision that I am currently faced with in my personal life, this one was infinitesimal.

Does anybody know of a customizer thats doing upsized heads for McFarlane figures? I got around to opening my Platinum Adam Strange and I honestly really like the figure except for his teeny tiny pin head. Standing the figure next to a couple of Super7 Ultimates and the body is as tall and proportionate as those figures, but the head is almost half the size. Literally the head is slightly smaller than the 1/12 Joe figures on my desk. This figure would be perfect with an appropriately sized noggin.

Speaking of head size - I just lucked out on Jade and James at Walmart and I'm real curious how her head would look on She-Hulk. Anyone down to try or guesstimate?

Picked up Kingdom Come Superman today. Was on the fence about him because I got Fleischer Superman and I don't find the overall looks to be radically different. But I Iike this buck so much for Superman and I could see myself regretting passing, so I bit. It's only missing the grey temples which is an easy fix with a dry brush, otherwise darn near perfect.

Still no sign of Digital wave Superman in my area.

I also just got KC Supes last week, and yesterday I was sick of looking at his inaccurate temples.

Not bad for my 3rd mod ever. My first was was painting 3 Jokers Batman's underwear black, and my second was nipping a chunk out of the back of Retro Venom's neck to get more range of movement. All 3 I would consider successes, but I'm still very hesitant to mod my figures. This one was a must, though.

Great job. Dry brushing?

I kind of love this Cyborg Superman. Someone really took their time on this guy to get it right and it's soooooooooooo much appreciated. The sculpt work is all on point, it looks just like it should look. I think it's all new except the left arm? Maybe? The paint really drives this one home. All the metallic parts are painted silver which makes it look really nice. No marbly grey plastic. The blues and reds are exactly the shade they were in the comics and the shade I want my regular Superman to have. The S is sculpted which I always appreciate. Just really nice.

Only nit pics are the fact the the S should be painted half black. No toy company that has made a Cyborg Superman ever spots that except for the 25 year old DC Direct version. I may hit it with a gundam marker. The fact that it is raised will make it easier. Also, I almost missed it, but there's a sculpted detail on the right thigh that should be painted silver, it's another metal piece, it's just molded blue like the rest of the leg. The budget ran out on that one. I don't know that I can hold it over them too much though because there was so much effort put into everything else.

This figure is a delight.

FedEx blew me off yesterday. But Cyborg Superman got delivered today. This is such a great figure.

I think I’d like to see Todd lean into the Superman Family in his last year on the license.
