McFarlane DC Multiverse

Did Batman's bat symbol light up on his chest in that comic book? Seem very un-Batmany, because it's not very stealthy.
It did! And it was connected to Batman “coming out” and being more visible on the world stage with Batman Inc, so that was kind of the justification.
Mostly though it was to differentiate him from Dick Grayson, who was also still Batman at that time and had the “oval-less” batsymbol on his suit. So like they made the oval EXTRA oval-y, I guess.

It’s Grant Morrison, man, they probably had some chaos magick ritual going with the light or something.
🤷‍♂️

There are way way WAY less healthy coping mechanisms in which you could be indulging, trust me.

For me, part of the fun of action figure collecting is always being there for the latest versions of characters I love. I don’t want *a* Batman: I want to collect Batman my whole life! Hell, as long as I am able, I’m always up for a new line of familiar characters.
I really keep saying "I could be pouring this money into FAR less coping mechanisms than the little dopamine boost of a BBTS or Pulse package arriving once a week."

This. Although not all the Batmans.

There are no less than seven characters named Starman and I want ‘em all. Plus Stargirl and Star Spangled Kid. I’d buy Jared Stevens Fate were it offered and would probably overpay on ebay if he was a Red Platinum. I’m not joking around when I talk about Scare Tactics, Bloodlines, or New Age of Heroes. Gimme. I’ve bought all the comic Flashes and am looking forward to more before the end. I’d love some more Hawks. Without the cut corners this time. Extra heads and weapons please.

Batman is King. He’s the cash cow. But you’d still get money from me if Batman were off limits for whatever reason.

Cool. Thank you for filling me in. :)

I figured there was a good reason for the yellow hue, but I sure didn't know what it was lol.

I had ordered a Mr Bones & 2 Obsidian figures from MTS & received an Obsidian & 2 Mr Bones figures. I contacted MTS, they sent a return label to return Mr Bones & I received my other Obsidian today.

I ordered Dr. Mid-Nite & Batman with the Mobius Chair from MTS. After thinking about it, I really didn't want Batman so I cancelled my order. I'm sure I'll find Dr. Mid-Nite at Target, Walmart or Gamestop.

I would have liked to have the current Wonder Woman but I did not want Godzilla. I won't be surprised if she gets released as a red platinum single in a few months. If I found the 2 pack at retail I could buy it and return it with the WW 84 figure. (Just Kidding, I'm not one of those low lifes that do that.)

I would like the crowd funding Harley Quinn, since I have the other 2 live action Harley Quinn figures. I'll skip it since there aren't any other figures from that movie. It looks like the Leto Joker is on the Phygital Joker body and doesn't actually look like Leto's body.

No reason to order the Page Punchers Joker, it looks like the Phygital Joker with a trench coat & new head sculpt. I thought Superman would just be a comic book version of the Justice League Task Force figure, but it looks like a different head sculpt.

Don't wanna jinx anything, but it does feel like a relatively safe bet that Harley will end up funding. She's at 55.6% of the goal in a day and a half. Obviously I don't expect that same momentum to persist throughout the month, but still, even if it's a steady stream per day, it feels likely. I'm sure they'll get another little boost after NYCC. Does anyone know if that number includes international backers, or are those added later like with the Haslabs?

Of course Harley will fund. Did anyone really doubt she would?

I mean, aside from Todd, who thinks the character sells so poorly she needed a Kickstarter to get made.

I'm so pleased with the price/value I'm going to pre-order early in the window instead of waiting to the end.

Yeah, I'm REALLY weaning myself off this line, but for the price he's asking, I'm taking a flyer on this Harley since it doesn't look much like Margot and could fit in as my only comics Harley for the line if they don't release a main line comics version of her before the line ends.

Absurd we haven't gotten any of the Amanda Conner Harley designs. DCD sustained a whole set off those.

The Harley thing is bizarre cos she’s a license to print money. But Todd does not march to the same drummer as most of reality.

Yeah, DCD sustained itself on Harley variants for quite a while. Interestingly enough, Mattel did not. And neither has Todd. Is DCD the outlier? Because it’s been a minute since they did all that.

I’m not a huge comic Harley fan. In the comics, she’s gone from psychotic Joker’s apprentice/love interest to a folk antihero. A second tier Bat Family member in some respects. And I seriously hate breaking the comics 4th wall. By any character.

In the movies, it’s a little different. The Birds of Prey film didn’t do any favors for anyone. But Margot Robbie is a scene stealing machine in both Suicide Squad films. When I read a comic with Harley in it, I try to voice her in my head as Margot. Makes her a little more palatable. And I’m still hoping Gunn is able to work Margot into the DCU somehow.

However, if Todd makes another comic Harley, I’ll buy her. No problem.

These days, you never know. I don't think there was ever a time I thought a Black Series Rancor wouldn't fund. I think a lot of it came down to pricing and what was included. If Todd was a little more greedy and priced the figure up a bit more, I don't know if she'd quite be where she's at now. Maybe still would've funded, but may have taken a bit longer to get there. It's all about perceived value. Lots of fans don't really see Suicide Squad as either a great movie or needed part of the collection, as much as they may love Margot as Harley.

The price is great (especially for level 1) but I’m concerned postage will nearly double the cost.
Depends where you're located. I thought postage would be a hefty chunk, since MTS orders are usually a little on the pricey side with shipping, but when I placed my order, it said shipping would only be about $6 or so. But if you're overseas, I can definitely see it adding a pretty penny or two.
