Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

:ROFLMAO: I -meant- that lots of people have gotten in King Grayskull and he is apparently built on the same body. So, barring some issues with his overlays, same ROM. I don't have my KG yet, so I can't speak to how differently they move from KG having those overlays. They definitely look like they'll get in the way a bit more than HM's do.
I read your text too quickly due to my jealousy that I didn't realize you were talking only about King Grayskull. This does not change my jealousy.

That's a great mod, @Poe Ghostal - I'm totally doing that when I get home. Good gawd, it's just such a great looking figure, the cape just adds greatness.

Is there a wired cape that can be donated to Scare Glow?

Now I'm kicking myself, -hard-, for getting rid of Masterverse KG when I got rid of most of my Masterverse figures. That is so much better.

Title of your sex tape!
"7 inches of Trapjaw" sounds like a weird, kinky Saw trap. But hey, I don't judge! I'll try anything once!

With as fast and loose as WalMart seems to be with a lot of stuff, I wish I had one a bit closer to me. Target has always been a bit of a stickler in terms of street dates, and they've been doubling down here recently. But if these are all still set for release this coming weekend, then I can hold out. Has there been any chatter of a restock of Scareglows? Or a first stock on the website?

Thinking on that.. it is rather bizarre that they over-designed one of the first figures that customers were ever going to get, to the point where it's inhibited on the main thing that they seem so proud of with the new figures - and certainly the thing most collectors will immediately be interested in. "Let's give these new figures the most articulation a MOTU figure has ever had - and the second figure people will ever hold should definitely barely be able to move because of how we design the secondaries." Bizarre.

It's not a huge knock against the figures. Both of the releases feel like they want to be "grand openers", both with significant character picks, and over the top designs before anything else. They did that exceptionally well. I just hope range of movement is heavily included in the design process of harnesses and overlay pieces going forward, especially if the designs are entirely brand new.

Yeah, but that's why it's bizarre. They had that chance with KG. It's a new body that they knew KG would be the 'test' for with a lot of people. And the design is completely new. Yet they chose elements of that designs to completely inhibit the movement of all their new articulation. It doesn't make the figure bad by any means, but it's a fuckin' weird choice nonetheless.

Absolutely. The ability to hold a sword aloft is especially important for this guy, adding pauldrons that make it really clunky to achieve is the single oddest choice imaginable. He can still hit the pose in some capacity, just takes a bit of a fight.

It's like going to the gym all year, putting in the work to get those killer biceps and shoulders, and then hitting the beach in a hoodie that's three sizes too big.
