Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Ain't gonna be me, but I'm interested to see how it looks when someone starts trying to actually disassemble the Chronicles figures. Curious about how much actual swapping potential there really is between Chronicles figures and from non-Chronicles figures.
 
Whenever I can get some cheapo fodder He-Mans (This likely won't be until after the movie leaves theaters) I'll be on some real Dr. Moreau shit. But until then, I'll make sure to post whatever I can find. Just on MotU heads and harnesses though, 200X Origins is the only He-Man line that works fully for swapping so far. Everything else is just too damn big.

If you see 'em, get 'em. At least one. I've had the first three for whatever... a week now? Two weeks? I can't remember. But I've reposed them a bunch of times just on the strength of being so impressed to finally have He-Man toys that can get into all kinds of ML-style poses.
 
Wave 1 of the MOTU movie figures looks really good. I can't wait to get these. I wonder who else will be in Wave 2 with Teela and Evil Lynn?

Hopefully the Skele-Knights, Mek-A-Nek, Beast Man, Spikor, Goat Man, and the Sorceress all get Chronicles figures too at some point.

I know he's not as exciting of a toy, but I really want Prince Adam as well.

If they make the Skeletor Knights in Chronicles, I'm going to need like 5,6, or 11 of those sons'a bitches.
 
It's definitely one of those 'I'm gonna need to see the movie first' things for me with SOME of that. I'll also go in on my favorite characters in any MOTU line, really. But you've gotta work harder to convince me to buy Nek or Spikor, for instance. If they're really cool in the movie then I'll probably want them. If I don't care for them in the movie, the toys will almost certainly be an easy pass as well.

Can't imagine NOT wanting Sorceress and Skeletor's knights, though.
 
Trapjaw looks awesome, hope he is 7" inches since he is a villian.

Sidenote: i think im just gonna mix Cronicles and Masterverse together. Movie Skele with 40th Anni. He-man etc...

I can't complain! Your posing is stellar, and it's great to see more photos of whats effectively the same figure, but less cumbersome. KG's loincloth and harness restrict a lot in all directions. This is a lot better for a sample of the range we should expect!

Thanks for sharing those. I don't know about "everybody" getting them in. Maybe they'll show up in the next couple of weeks, but I've only seen one instance of them being found in the states on Reddit. I'm sure these are OLD NEWS to you, Mr. Canadian Tire.

:ROFLMAO: I -meant- that lots of people have gotten in King Grayskull and he is apparently built on the same body. So, barring some issues with his overlays, same ROM. I don't have my KG yet, so I can't speak to how differently they move from KG having those overlays. They definitely look like they'll get in the way a bit more than HM's do.

Thinking on that.. it is rather bizarre that they over-designed one of the first figures that customers were ever going to get, to the point where it's inhibited on the main thing that they seem so proud of with the new figures - and certainly the thing most collectors will immediately be interested in. "Let's give these new figures the most articulation a MOTU figure has ever had - and the second figure people will ever hold should definitely barely be able to move because of how we design the secondaries." Bizarre.
 
Saw this suggested in a YouTube review and tried it myself - using Revelations King Grayskull's wired cape on Chronicles KG. It's a pretty easy swap - you just pop new KG's epaulets off, pull off the cape, put the epaulets back on, and then use the Velcro straps to put Revelations' cape on. Looks much nicer and has a lot more posing options.
