Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

I'll vibe off a trailer, but I generally ignore them for actual content because studios are known for putting things in trailers that aren't in the film, or cutting scenes in a trailer to completely change the way they are in the actual film. So, basically once I sit down to watch a movie I forget anything I ever saw in a trailer.
I agree with that, I don’t often trust trailers. But I remember pretty distinctly that she uses the rifle in the trailer and to blast Beast Man, sending him falling to the ground below the highway. Unless my imagination is piercing all of that together.

I can't believe I wasn't able to go see this opening weekend. To say I am Super Camel Super pissed is an understatement. But Tuesday. Tuesday is my day. I am so excited to see this. I'm even excited to buy the Blu Ray.

I wish it had done better numbers at the box office this weekend. But I hope it keeps making as much as it can, and then between merchandise, DVD/Blu Ray, digital purchases, and streaming that maybe they will feel confident enough to at least try one more film so we can get a live action She-Ra at last.

Weirdly, I feel like if it was handled well, a She-Ra film would probably do better at the box office. They could frame it as a spiritual “sequel” to Barbie in a lot of ways.

I would have hit the laughing emoji to like your post Damien, but this is no laughing matter. So, I just hit thumbs up because I agree with everything you said. I'm worse than the cancer Camel. A lifelong mega fan of MOTU and I missed the opening weekend. But Super Camel was swamped with unbelievable amounts of stupid Camel shit and could not go see this movie. I was even at a funeral, and yelled midway through "can we wrap this up!" hoping I could still make a Saturday night showing.

But no.

And the Widow just had no sympathy. Especially when she heard me whisper, "You know who doesn't have the Power? Darren. Up there in his little luxury box."

43 Years I've waited for this movie, and he has to get hit by a Heiner's Bread truck the Tuesday before it comes out. I wish it had at least been a Wonder Bread truck. You know, because of Wonder Bread He-Man/Wun-Dar. That way at least he would have kept it themed to MOTU and I would have felt better about the whole thing.

Dian's presence in the movie is just making me wonder... how the HELL have we never gotten basic ass female Eternian troops in ANY of the lines? Not Origins, not Classics, not Masterverse, or even the two new lines. While I haven't bought any, (too broke for army building) I've always loved Classified for having the option of ladies for most basic troops. Nothing for MotU? Seriously?

It'd be so easy to kitbash a movie Dian in the style of the traditional lines if we just had that.

Alright, so what else would we like to see from the movie in this line? A big old Beast Man would be epic. Same with Roboto.
For standard sized figures I would like Sorceress, Mekaneck, Spikor, and Korg.

I at the very least need:
  • Roboto (with swappable battle-mode parts)
  • Sorcereress
  • Beast Man
  • Goat Man
  • Spikor
  • Skele-Knight
  • Mekaneck
  • Dian
  • Karg
  • Orko
  • Office Skeletor

My wish list isn't long. There are barely any characters left to cover. Beast Man is already preordered sight unseen at BBTS. Sorceress, Mekaneck, Spikor, Goat Man, Dian, Moss Man, final scene Teela, gym bro Skeletor, HR Skeletor, Earth Adam...

I remain perplexed by his appearance in the film, yet really want a Chronicles version now. He has a very traditional Dungeons and Dragons-style look to him.

Essentials feel like Roboto, Beast Man and Sorceress.

Filling out the supporting cast - Mekaneck, Dian, Spikor, Karg, Goat Man. Also Randor and Marlena. Plus army builders; Skel-Knights and maybe Royal Guards.

Of all of these I'd likely only pick up the 3 essentials but I know a lot would love to fill out all the supporting characters as well. And I get it, the design work on the film was fantastic!

Into spoilers now I would probably get
"Prince Adam, Teela, Man-At-Arms (brighter armour) and Roboto (classic look)"
from the last scene and
"Orko"
from the first post-credit scene.

Picked up Man-At-Arms, Battle Cat, Skeletor and Trap Jaw before seeing the film a second time yesterday. Very excited to see what Mattel have to show at SDCC. Also hoping to see some classic style figures in the Chronicles line. The potential of Mattel having compatible collectors lines for MOTU and TMNT is insanely exciting for me.
