Masters of the Universe X Thundercats

I like the collabs. I think they're fun. I'm fine with it not being a popular opinion, I find more and more that I'm less of a purist than a lot of folks with the things I like.
 
Like most things, I pick and choose what collaborations to buy. I love TMNT, but I skipped the entire TMNT/MotU crossover. Not for me. I'm totally into the TCats/MotU crossover though. Love having these two licenses in this format. I have several TF crossovers, but not every one. TF/TMNT, /BttF, /Jurassic Park, /Ghostbusters, /Knight Rider.. Lots of fun. I kinda like Street Fighter and have bought a few Jada figures. I don't like it enough to have gotten the TF crossover. I pick and choose.
 
I guess Dan's doing his job if he posts a video and it annoys people.

I get a kick out of collabs. I picked this line up. I'm done with TMNT/MOTU now, but I got a BUNCH of them. I thought the Power Rangers crossovers with TMNT and Street Fighter were really fun.
 
TMNT/MotU is what got me re-interested in MotU in the first place! I hadn't had any MotU stuff since I was a kid.
 
I'm all about the right collab. If it is two lines I like and the specific product is something I like then I'm in. However that isn't a guarantee.

I passed on all of Turtles Of Grayskull. I liked a few of the designs, but just didn't bother. I was late to MOTU/WWE but got a few of those figures. I'm pretty much all in on MOTUxTC even though I am not a fan of some of the wave 2 and 3 designs. However I am not impressed with the MOTUxTF figures. Skeletor looks okay with Megatron as armour, but Bumblebee/Man-At-Arms looks terrible. Easy pass for me, especially at the price they are asking.

I think where I get into a good bit of trouble is the Transformers collabs. There have been some really great collabs and I have picked up way more than I probably should have over the years. My personal faves are the GI Joe collabs. That is a dream come true for the kid version of me. Joe vehicles that transform into TF characters? YES PLEASE!!!!!!!! And they fit figures like normal in vehicle mode?? SWOON!!!!!!!
 
The GIJoe/TF collabs are absolute genius. I will buy every one they release specifically because they’re compatible with / identical to the original vehicles and O-ring figures.
 
What I think is funny is I ordered the Bumble Bee mash up figure because I think it looks great but didn't order the other one because I think it looks like garbage.

I ordered all of the Motu/Tcats mash ups because thats two great tastes that taste great together. I bought maybe 30% of the TNMT/Motu mash ups - only the ones that fit more Motu and not the ones that were mostly Turtles aesthetic.
 
Skel-Ra arrived via PoL. He is my favorite so far. As Skeletor, he has what might be the first bare skull head in this format. The hood is part of the armor sculpt, all one piece. The loin cloth is also removable. The cape plugs into his back in two pieces like wings, and is reversible purple/red. He looks great and I will get keep my Target PO so I can display as Skeletor.

But this copy will be Mumm-Ra. This is a larger body than the standard, and he is imposing! He has translucent mummy wraps for his torso and arm, his loincloth, and the Sword of Plundarr. He stands a head taller than Lion-O, the latter’s hair lined up with the former’s neck/chin.

Again, I’m really loving this license in this format. The modular aspect to them is what makes them so fun. I love toys that are versatile like this. 100% sold on this line so far.
 
Hehehe... Skel-Ra is the only one in my POL, but I currently have an EXCESS of items in my POL including a Street Fighter figure I want ASAP, so I think I'm just gonna hit ship and assume that will trigger the rest of the wave to hit my POL on Monday. Anyone waiting for something specific? I'm willing to take the POL jinx hit by shipping and thus guaranteeing more stuff arrives right after I hit go.
 
Found them all (on a top shelf, not on the regular location) at a nearby WM this morning.
 
All these trips I've been making to Walmart to pick up Crystal Balls for forum members and I haven't thought to check the opposite side of the display where the MOTU stuff was since the first day I went in there and it was empty. Looked over there today and saw the first wave. I bought all but Battle Cat who I already had coming from Amazon from a preorder.

I had pretty much decided to pass on this line but it is a lot easier to pass on buying online than it is when seeing it in person.
 
Wave 1 of this crossover line arrived from Amazon. Have only opened Lion-O so far. Haven't put him in his classic look yet. I do wish his claw shield was an open hand and not fist. The back of the box has artwork with the shield hand open and very cat-claw like, which is so much more dynamic and playing into the cat motif than a fist.

I know packaging artwork isn't always indicative of future releases, but there's a rather normal looking Beast Man on the back of one of the cardback. And a Trap Jaw who does look different, so maybe Trap Jaw will make it into this line. I really just want the Mutants, mummy Mumm-Ra, and the twins. But based on wave 3, I just don't think we'll be getting all of them.
 
Possibly I am the only member on this board who's gonna keep the Cats in their MotU armor, aren't I? :) Not generally a TC fan, MotU is the impetus for these purchases for me.
 
According to the comics, the armor isn’t even Eternian! It’s Thunderan armor! But I guess it makes them look a little more Eternian?

From what I have seen this is an alternate universe and not a mixing of the MOTU and TC universes that we know. So they are basically free-wheeling it to fit the story they want to tell and the looks they want to use.
