Masters of the Universe: Origins

I was watching the GeekDadLife stream about the sale and it looks like everyone, outside of Syklone, sold out within minutes.

They speculated that it might have been the production overstock for damages, returns, etc. So they may have only had a couple, to dozens, of each figure available.
 
I went in on Sy-Klone, an extra Rio, and first on Vultak and Hurricane Hordak. Shipping was still only under $10, plus the membership which diluted to 2.50 per figure, I figured why not.
 
I didn’t think the Origins 2k He-Man and Skeletor did very well based on how cheap they are now. Maybe with more characters to support them, there will be more love for the theme. Maybe the Cartoon figures will be dialed down to make room for them. I wasn’t a huge fan of the 2k line due to their shaping and limited articulation!. I think some of the more monstrous designs (like Clawful) will be interesting to see in Origins styling.

I imagine there will be movie figures as well. Maybe Mattel will be conservative with movie product. I imagine they see the movie as a driving force for the brand in the future though.

Did anyone expect them to? I think a lot of collectors are getting a bit jaded on companies trying to sell 1980s action figures at 2025 prices.
 
I got the e-mail from BBTS for the Battle of Eternia 4 pack as well. It looks like a fun set and I'm excited to get it, but damn. It feels like so many products from so many companies are all flooding in at once this Month, and it's only the 12th.
And there are still so many things scheduled to drop through the rest of this month.

I didn't need anything from the Mattel sale. I luckily already had it. But I did know it was coming today. They sent out e-mails to Club Grayskull members like 4 or 5 days ago.

Really? Thats crazy! It doesn't help being a premium member if they don't make you aware of the special events and products. That sucks man. Anytime I get an e-mail from them from now on I'll post it here just in case others DONT get the same e-mail.
 
I never got the email either! I only knew about the sale cos of a Preternia post.

Did you guys who didn't get the email opt out of receiving those kinds of emails?

I'll keep waiting to see if they give us a "big" sale on a bunch of items later this year because I would like to get a couple of items all at once to save on shipping. However the prices in Canadian dollars are still too high. Like 15%+ higher than they should be based on the exchange rate.
 
I got my Cartoon Leech and Catra in from BBTS today. I can practically hear the figures, they look so much like the cartoon. I really can't wait for Grizzlor now to complete the big 3 Horde henchmen.
 
I haven't opted out of emails from Mattel, no.

I got Catra, Frosta, Invisible Skeletor and the Eternia 4 pack from BBTS today.
 
Got my Battle For Eternia Pack from BBTS today. This pack is very impressive. The packaging and the figures. My favorite is definitely the Skel-Knight. But all 4 figures are a lot of fun. The Pit Warden is definitely just one of those crazy ass, but so crazy it works MOTU toys.

Yeah, he has the two heads, and technically a 3rd head as his left hand. And he comes with a sword and shield. The Pit Warden of the Snake Men which according to the bio on the box are very hard to kill, and if you cut off a head, another grows back.

He sounds like a real pain in the ass.
