Masters of the Universe: Origins

So Club Greyskull is teasing a new drop and it appears to be Red Shadow. I know this will make the 'finish vintage' brigade even more frustrated, but I am super jazzed to get this guy in the line. He always seemed like one that would have shown up in Classics if that had kept going at Super7.

I love the Axl created characters and am happy toe welcome any and all of them into my collection.

I don't remember what thread we were originally talking about them in, but I actually saw the Transformers x MOTU origins figures of Skeletor and MAA at EB today. They're 60 fucking dollars. Mattel can suck every dick on earth.

Right? The premium they placed on these was ludicrous. I absolutely hate the skeletor anyway... but I actually like the look of Bee-at-Arms... but not $40 worth. I guess thats what happens when both Mattel and Hasbro want to make their full per figure profit on a shared release.

Are they really $40 here? I thought they were $30. Still not interested.
They're cheaper on EB's website so... I dunno what's up. But in store they were 54.99 (so 58 bucks after tax). On the website they're 49.99 (53 after tax). I'm guessing that means they're in the 30-35 range USD?

They are $33 here in the US. I was being dramatic by adding on the tax and rounding up. Of course if you have them shipped it is that much.

We really do need to normalize talking about pricing WITH tax. With some exceptions, it's not like you can just opt-out of that part of the cost. Like I said above, the lowest price I can get these for in Canada is, with tax, 53 dollars. That doesn't include the fact that I'd either have to pay to ship them, or spend my time and gas (not that I pay for gas) going to pick it up. That's a fucking crazy price for an ORIGINS figure no matter what ridiculous justifications Mattel thinks it has.

those Transformers crossover figures will be clearanced at the end of the year. May make it down to $10.

I’m starting to love that Mattel keeps ignoring the few remaining vintage figures. sorry guys. I know it irks people but the way they’re dragging it out, we’ll have a few more years of complaining. Some day, I’ll eventually get Two-Bad.

Origins is a line which I should just move on from. Fun toys. I’m well past nostalgia and have been building a universe. Even have a number of WWE in this style. Will get the BFS Conan ones. But how much of a universe of these do I really need? That said, you just know there will be a DC/MOTU crossover line once Mattel starts up the DC machine again. And I won’t be able to resist some Origins Justice League characters.

I've kinda moved on, too, but I know they'll get me every few months with something interesting. I'm okay with this being a back burner line to collect compared to everything else cos I have most of what I want. I had to give up being a completionist when they made Rokkon so impossible to get.

So, hold up. We're getting Red Shadow? Which is cool, but what about Great Black Wizard? I thought he was November and Dragstor was December? Or is the thinking now the Great Black Wizard may have been a true tease but is just coming next year?

sketch book He-Man packaging art. Could these figures be in the works?

I hope those 2 get made. Crimson Countess is a cool looking character, and I love that Skeletor. He has a Skelcon skull as a helmet, and then he has the lock with chains going through it like Dragon Blaster Skeletor. It's a fun variation for Skeletor that I'd definitely get.
