I think in a different world than the one we're currently living in, Queen Marlena would be more exciting than half of the vintage line, really. In MOTUC, I was -insanely- excited about Marlena and the cartoon-costume Randor. For me, the same kinda goes for stuff like concept He-Man, which is something I personally enjoy a lot more than Twisty or Dragface.

But.... In a world where they seem hell-bent on proving they don't have to follow through with the promises they make, and in a world where they've ACTIVELY made it awful to even collect the line at all? Every new release just reminds me that these guys are pieces of shit.
 
I’m digging Marlena. Hopefully she can get that helmet on and do the whole “retro-future space girl” thing the Classics figure had going on.
 
I don’t really need Marlena to be a recreation of the Classics gimmick. I’d prefer a dedicated Captain Glenn figure that isn’t green. But I don’t need that either, and I’d rather have Two-Bad.
 
I'm really excited about Marlena. After Swiftwind I was pretty content with this line, don't really have a dog in the fight when it comes to whether or not they remake every vintage character, but Marlena was heavily featured in the show and I always wanted a figure of her. I could take or leave Randor. I have the vintage and the Origins one that's based on the vintage and I'm at Randor overload as it is.
 
It was SO satisfying getting Queen Marlena in the Classics line. I felt that way about her and Adora because I wanted both so much in the vintage MOTU and POP lines.

So, I'm excited to get Marlena again here. And while I am always excited about any MOTU reveal, I wish so much Mattel would just finish the damn vintage collection already. They are drawing this out at a psychotic rate. I'm so glad we're getting Multi Bot, and hopefully December will be Dragstor on Creations. So, that's two more down. But come on! This could have been wrapped up easily in the last couple years.

Hopefully soon though. I do believe they'll do it, I just can't believe how long it's taking.

To put a finer point on this:


When this line started, they were 15 dollars CAD and you could find them at Walmart and TRU.
We are now at 33 CAD for the most recent figure, plus shipping because you can only buy them online directly from Mattel, and still not even an end in sight for finishing the vintage roster.

In the time it's taken them to NOT finish the vintage roster, the price has gone up over 100%. Mattel can suck my fucking dick until they choke.
 
I think my only hesitation about the Marlena is that she looks like another figure in this line who will have no leg articulation, but honestly... I can work with it. I've never had a version of her before and that'd scratch a collector itch I've had for a long time. (I also hope we see her in Masterverse.)
