Masters of the Universe: Origins

I honestly think if they'd popped something like that up on MattelCreations with the usual upcharge for being exclusive and online online, and the major selling point was 'we painted it even less,' people would have rioted.
So include some vintage weapons or something...

What else did we need? The kind of hardcore fan that would even want a less-painted He-Man probably already has everything. Not saying they shouldn't have done it. I'm just not surprised that they didn't.

Sketchbook Skeletor as well as Movie Man At Arms, Tri Klops, and the Moss Man and Ram Man 2 pack have all gone up for pre order on Target if anyone wants them.

I grabbed x2 of the Skeletor Sketchbook figure along with a Funko Pop of Cringer. They are still doing the $10 off $40 sale right now too.

God......Chronicles is one of the best things out there right now and Origins and the core line both have their own unique charm......but I CANNOT GET THREE MOTU LINES......

Happy Father’s Day to me!

Tonight I’m gonna party like it’s 200X

Quick thoughts on each in the order I opened them:

Firstly, I never watched the 200X MYP show. I like the redesigns, but I'm not fully familiar with all of them as I didn't collect the original toy line either.

He-Man: Nice looking standard figure. Will probably loan him the axe and shield from the previous Origins figure. Glad he has the correct right wrist hinge.
Man-At-Arms: A lot more blue in his design than I'm used to. I like the oversized armor, but kinda wish there was fur to match around both shoulders, not just his right.
Teela: I think the hair is a bit too high on mine, giving her a bit of five-head. Kinda wish she had a sword and shield also.
Orko: I feel like they packed him with a decent bit of accessories to make him feel equal in price to the standard figures. Like that the medallion is removable.
Skeletor: Is this torso slightly hunched? I like that differentiation, but these figures really could use any kind of torso articulation above and beyond the waist. Like the Filmation version, he needs a darker wash to differentiate his top and bottom teeth.
Evil-Lyn: Perfect, no notes.
Beast Man: Love the size, but his face lacks color? I miss the blue.
Tri-Klops: Was afraid his visor wouldn't rotate, but it clicks into place. It honestly doesn't have to. Don't understand what's on his knees.
Stratos: Love the wing design, which is probably the redesign I most admired between the '80s run and MYP. I flipped the wings on my Classics version to reflect that. But this figure fully realizes the actual design much better. Gotta play around more.
Ram Man: Jeez, he's huge. His shoulder armor doesn't actually fix to his body, it kinda clips to his chest, but not securely at all.
Buzz Off: Love the insectoid look, the additional smaller limbs. Don't love his face, looks too Handsome Squidward.
Moss Man: Maybe the most unremarkable figure I've opened.
Merman: Love this head sculpt. I like how he looks almost confidently angry thanks to the furrowed brow (as opposed to shocked expression he normally has with the wide eyes).
Clawful: I like that both claws have articulation, don't love how skinny his legs are, nor how he comes with no club/mace weapon.
Whiplash: Size is once again incredible, but that tail ain't secure on that peg, and he should have come with his spear as well.
Webstor: Love his creepy face and articulated small limbs (which make up for lack of rifle/weapon)
Roboto: Tallest figure in the line? Haven't swapped out his hand for the laser gun, but that would also leave me with the first of loose accessories that would need to be stored because there's no other spot on the figure for it. I even dig his Soundwave shoulder cannon.
Zodak: I like him enough, but there's not much going on.

Have yet to open Adam, Samurai He-Man, and Keldor. In no rush.

NORM opened them all! This will be a day long remembered.

Oh wait, you didn't open Adam, Samurai, and Keldor. And you're in "no rush " lol

They look great all together there.

Happy Father's day to you indeed NORM.

It was like when you save half a sandwich for later.

I opened Adam, Keldor, and Samurai a few minutes ago! They're fine.

Adam is a slightly slimmer build, but not skinny. His head sculpt is definitely different from He-Man, younger.
Keldor shares almost everything with Skeletor except new feet, a new crest on his armor, has a cape instead of the Havoc Staff.
Samurai is a basic He-Man with a chest overlay with shoulder pauldrons, a different loincloth, bracers, shin guards, boots with removable stilts(?) and the same old power sword.

Speaking of the power sword, it's not the same as the previous Origins 200X sword sculpt. That one is a bit smaller and way more detailed with rivets and stuff. That figure's shield won't fit into the new 200X hand, the grip isn't wide enough and forearm is too thin for the clip. He can hold the axe though, and that looks pretty cool. But if he can't use the shield, the Origins version can keep them.

I keep wanting to just cut down to JUST Chronicles going forward but I've been picking up a 200x here and there and just got Teela. I'm not super familiar with the 200x line but I just gotta say, this is the prettiest Teela figure I've ever come across. And I don't mean that as 'this action figures is sexy." I mean it just merges iterations of her costume so well. The face sculpt has more personality than previous figures I've had. She seems more dynamic and action-figure-y. I agree that she needs a sword and shield too, but honestly, I'm just really impressed and I'm screwed if they do 200x in Chronicles scale.

Got Orko too, but I feel like all Orkos are just Orko? Like, I like this little guy, but no matter what, Orko is a talking sock wearing a hat and that's just fine.

The problem with the 200x origins figures is I'll get one and be like, so who else don't I have yet? So this is how I'll end up with Mer-Man in a few weeks.

I already can’t wait for the next wave of Trap Jaw, Sorceress, Sy-Klone, and Man-E-Faces. I don’t think POs have gone up yet. Also, this line ain’t finished to me until they make Fisto.
