Masters of the Universe: Origins

I read that as Mulletbot for a second and thought I might have missed out on the greatest character ever created for MOTU.

So, it's being stated that Origins will NOT end or be replaced by the new Movie 5.5" figures The First Ones. Origins will continue. Mattel did say that the Origins crossover stuff would be completely put on hold during the movie year. So, Transformers/MOTU and T-Cats/MOTU will be put on hold for 2026. They said they may revisit those and other crossovers next year or beyond.

I'm glad Origins will be continuing.

Oh thank god... they won't stop making one Origins figure every three months and charging triple the original retail value for it. We are truly blessed.
Hey I just spoke to Mattel, they said....."You're welcome." They totally sounded sincere. :ROFLMAO:

Nothing says "successful line" like putting it on hiatus for other lines. As much as it hurts me to say it, the MOTU x Thundercats line is probably dead. They had that one pic recently of what looked like a possible Monkian figure and nothing has been seen, or mentioned, since. Who would have thought starting a new line by rereleasing two of the same figures one after the other with minor differences would not be a big seller?

Received Multibot today and immediately broke the peg off the rear pelvis, trying to take the blue right leg off. Very disappointing. I really hate the system they’ve been using for these modular characters. I hated it on Modulok, I hate it on Multibot. However, one of those spare pieces will have to come to the rescue on this broken pelvis, otherwise I’m coming up with my own configuration to salvage this thing.

Aside from that mishap, what I notice right away is that this figure is huge and doesn’t feel like Origins scale. I think I felt that way about Modulok too, that he could fit with Masterverse if necessary. In terms of sculpt, M-Bot is faithful to that vintage style. Unique sculpt with no reuse except the extra pegs.

I was excited to have all of the villainous cyborgs, but having to fix this figure is a real nuissance.

That sucks NORM. Being from Amazon, I'm sure you can send it back and get another though.

As far as Origins continuing, I'm just hopeful the 200X figures get to continue all of this year and maybe next. I want to get as deep into that sub line of origins as possible. And I hope they can and will finish the vintage collection as they promised. After that if it ended, I'd be fine. But I am glad it's continuing for now because of those reasons.

It sucks about Masterverse though, because I feel that last Wave we got is probably just it for the rest of 2026. Maybe we'll get something on Creations, but who knows. I hate that. I really wanted New Eternia Snake Men, Rio Blast, and Extendar.

Yeah... not getting the Snake Men in Masterverse hurt my feelings. Was really looking forward to a bunch of snakes. I would have bought multiples of each to do SO many snske customs. Heck, I bought 3 of Kobra Khan already. I may have to buy more now that he's the only Masterverse snake.

I was able to come up with a really satisfying configuration using EVERY piece except the broken pelvis, which really would have opened up so many options. It’s kind of a centaur-scorpion hybrid, a Centaurpion, if you will. This will most likely be permanent for my copy.

Listening to Pixel Dan's final wrap up of all things MOTU, it honestly sounds like Wave 3 of the Cartoon Collection 200X Origins figures might be the last Wave of those we get this year. Because like Masterverse, it sounds like they are on pause as well. It sounds like 2026 will just focus on the Movie product at retail. I hope we still get Roboto and the leaked Waves 4 and 5 we know of at some point for 200X.

I hope if the MOTU movie is successful, which I think it will be, Mattel continues Origins and Masterverse next year and on until another movie comes around with the inevitable sequel. (Again, if this first film is a success.)

I'm sure we'll continue to get Origins stuff on Creations though. We are due for another figure on Creations next week.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Collection IS the 'Origins will continue' they were talking about and the 200x stuff will simply be moved to MC or 'fan channel.'

I just really wish we’d gotten the Preternia dinosaurs as re-releases.
As.. new figures or actual re-releases of the originals? I could have sworn they said those are some of the original molds they don't have anymore.

But also... man, I wanted the giants and a turbodactyl in Origins -so- badly. And we still don't even have Two Bad or any of the three 'toy' movie figures.

I mean Origins versions. I didn’t think any of the Origins stuff was based on original molds.

No, it wasn't. But Mattel DID do a few re-issues of the actual original vintage He-Man and Skeletor (and Battle Cat... and maybe something else?) so I wasn't sure if that's what you were talking about.
