Marvel Legends Two-Packs

Nice to see Legends complete a team with a few years! (I know Armor is technically needed but I can’t see that happening due to engineering complexities.)

I like Armor’s power set a lot, but I didn’t read the arc when she joined. The current team is the lineup I remember from reading Astonishing first couple of arcs (Ord, Danger, Breakworld). Of course, I’d still get an Armor figure!

In terms of scale, overall, I am fine with them if posed dynamically. The main issues are Wolverine and Kitty being too tall.

I can't get with the school that Armor needs her power representation.

We get so many other characters who don't have it, or a shitty version of it. Just give me the kid to stick with Logan.

Breakworld is where she shone and why I consider her the final piece.

It's gonna feel so great when tomorrow's wave reveal shows off Armor as the BAF, rather than Box, and we never have to argue about engineering complexities again. And when it doesn't happen, I can always just delete this message, and it will be like I never said anything, right?

Weirdly I didn't lock into Armor until, and this is not the popular choice, that very short X-Men anime. The look of her power there for some reason sold me on her retroactively in some way. But yeah, definitely Breakworld was good stuff for her.

For me it's Cyclops that really breaks up the cohesiveness. I never liked that figure. There's something about the proportions and silhouette that feels chunky and doesn't match the comic, and it stood out even more once you put it next to Emma and Logan. And of course Logan had his own proportion issues, but viewed as a whole, it's really Scott that takes me out.
Looking at the group photos from Akat and gpm, it's Emma and Wolverine for me. Kitty's too tall, but I can forgive it. Kitty, Scott, Hank, and Piotr look cohesive. Emma's little pinched head and ~everything~ about Wolverine ruin it. Wolverine looks like a 1:10 scale figure next to the others.

I'd like to see Kitty's head next to Two Pack Wasp, Spin MJ, and the 2016 Kitty.

They started shrinking females down a few years ago, but not always. Since Kitty is basically the OG release buck and scale, I'm curious if her head is bigger like they used to be. That can also throw them all off.

I used to find Legends heads great for Legions, but around Shriek when they redid the female buck, they changed the head sizing, and they no longer looked good on Legions. Occasionally, a figure comes out using the old scale. Really wrenches a lot of kitbashing for my proportional tastes. I won't have Kitty until Thursday.

It's not her height for me. It's that it's all scaled in proportion.

I haven't thought of that in a long time. A long time.

Might have to queue it.

Kitty def woks with older scales females like Quake/Maria Hill, Wasp, Kate Bishop. Emma is more like the newer Carol Danvers and Black Widow.

I enjoyed it. I have them all. Blade, Wolverine, Iron Man (and the movie), XMen, and the Punisher/Black Widow movie on disc. I don't know of Disney keeps them on the app or not. I bought them all when they first came out. I was actually thinking about watching them all again.

Kitty's head size is like the old figure, not small like Emma or Carols new ones. I also don't think Kitty is phoned in though. She looks about as good as she could, just too tall, and maybe needed sculpted piping on her legs. I think shes a good figure. Shes just the lowest on the list for how well done the Astonishing figures are (to me). Logan is the next rung up, and hes only there because hes too tall as well. If they dropped the scale a smidge on both of those, I'd consider the team quite near perfect. But also not complete cause we need Armor still. I know it wouldn't be as good, but maybe they could just do some pieces like the DCUC Green Lantern figures had. Transparent yellow or orange bits and bobs that you can attach to her arms and legs instead of the giant "suit" she wears. It would be more cost effective, and about as good as light up wrist rings for Jubilee.
