Marvel Legends Preorders - When and Where

I haven't paid attention to Shartimus in a dog's age, but for some reason one of my social media feeds pushed him in a few minutes ago with a post complaining he didn't know about the early release time for Psylocke and I found myself thinking: we're over here on this chill forum slinging links and heads' up about release times back and forth looking out for each other as best we can, and maybe there's two types of collectors in the world and the cool ones hang out here.

(I mean if my job were talking about action figures I might not have publicly admitted to not knowing, but in 2025, everything is content.)

Missed out on the Psylocke/Thanos pack but managed to get Weapon X. Target pre-orders are pretty annoying. This sold out in 15 minutes max. I don't understand why they don't want our money. The weirdest part is this two-pack will likely only end up in like 20% of Target stores, half of which will get like two of them and the other half will get a hundred, which will be clearanced to half-off in three weeks. Seems weird when they could put up enough stock on their own site to at least handle pre-orders for, I don't know, a single day.

I think the biggest culprit is that there didn’t seem to be a small order limit on the 2pk. The dropdown for quantity scrolled way down, but the dropdown for Weapon X limited at 2 per purchase.

Yeah, I think all the 2-packs will end up on a sale. Most have a "main want" and another figure most don't really want/need. FOMO almosts sets in for me, but I've held out thus far.

Life happens and none of us are comprehensively attuned to every detail, even in our field of expertise. I've met Shartimus briefly in person and he was a friendly, kind person with whom to talk toys and music. I've never understood the public displays of animosity toward him.

(Not meant to single you out here but your post is rather part of a general trend I noted on the Fwoosh forums.)

Sometimes all you know of someone is how they present themselves in public. Internet personalities choose a persona that doesn't always vibe with others. Part of the schtick sometimes. More obvious if they present in a totally different way in person. But how do you differentiate that if you've only seen one side? Is it like an actor playing a role you don't like? Why would anyone assume that a person is different in person than how they present themselves publicly?

From that perspective, what is his public persona's worst crime? Did I miss him being an asshole online to others in the community? Because in the videos I've seen he seemed enthusiastic about toys and excited for the kickstarter he tried to launch (which I backed). Surely there must be some pretty egregious behavior from his public persona that motivates a pile-on of people publicly denigrating a likely forum reader? It must be a better reason than what I've seen cited: the guy has shart in his on-line moniker, which, meh, so what?

@bat I personally can’t remember any specifics but from just about any video I’ve watched of his, he seems like the kind of person I’d rather not spend any time with. Generally annoying/grating. I’m too old to want to spend time with people or things that are annoying. I imagine others could chime in with their actual grievances about him or any other online personalities they’re not into.

I don't really have any super animosity toward him (gawd knows there are more grating action figure internet personalities), other than I have an aversion to poop jokes and his online persona leads with a joke about shitting one's pants, but I reckon sometimes you Hootie and the Blowfish yourself into a corner (whatever name you're going by the minute the industry discovers you is the one you're stuck with for all eternity).

I suppose by the time I became too old to want to spend time with people that are annoying, I was also too old to waste my time badmouthing such people. It doesn't really seem anyone has a better reason to hate this guy than what I said (his handle refers to poop!) so the pile-on in an otherwise friendly, welcoming forum will remain a mystery to me.

Anyway, I've got my own inscrutable mysteries; looking forward to preordering that Juggernaut despite already owning 3 of him.

I’m not aware of any posts I made badmouthing anyone in particular.

Easily justified and the new one will make your current ones look puny!

Any recs on where to see side by side comps of the new Juggernaut with the old ones? I'm pretty happy with the last version of him but I am a sucker for an upgrade.
