Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I haven't used popfindr in ages, but it appears Psylocke is filtering into CT stores. Four stores within 75 miles have four each. Way too low of a number, obviously. Toy Snowman said this was his fastest preorder ever. I think he meant out of any preorder, not limited to ML. I can believe it.

Popfindr says I have stores here that have 4. I'm gonna check one of them here pretty soon and see. And maybe the other one if they don't let me buy it or don't have it out.

I called a nearby Target, and the employee said they had it as Popfindr shows but that their system was showing a street date of July 20th.

And I also just saw that MCUCollector24 went to a store near him, an employee went and got it out of the back and gave it to him, and he tried to buy it--but nope, it was register locked. Another random Target fuck-up as usual since there's no reason to restrict sale to Sunday.

At this point I don't think there's any reason to question why this happens. Their inventory system is just consistently terrible in multiple random ways, and they don't care at all. Their system is actually pretty great, but the people managing and using it aren't. They used to use that system well prior to about 2022, but not anymore. My guess has always been there was some management change around then, and the new management just doesn't care about strict inventory control.

Seeing that Displaying Model Behavior suspects one of Dan's recent tweets is alluding to a MVC Spider-man/Hulk 2-pack using the new Maximum bodies. I buy everything except them reusing those bucks so fast. I would consider a brighter Spidey on any of the main bucks now that was in a more MVC style... so long as he had some wall-crawler hands.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they did a two-pack featuring Max sculpts so soon. Unless it's $120 or something crazy. I would think Max sculpts are going to stay exclusive to that line for at least a year or so.

I went to both Targets, nothing on the shelves. I didn't want to bug an employee just to get register blocked anyway. So I'll wait till Sunday and see if I can get one online or maybe have someone stop by the stores and see if they actually put them out. Just cause its street dated doesn't mean they'll put them out on that day. And odds are I'll be too late, someone else will have had them pulled from the back already by the time I can get around to going.

My thoughts exactly, and they've got other bucks that they can use for both. Though every 2-pack in this line so far has had a reasonable amount of new parts, beyond just headsculpts. There's reuse, sure, but not as much as there could be.

To be fair, the maximum series figures are only $50+ because of the glut of accessories. Without those, a basic figure would still be $25. At best the maximum Spidey has 3 extra points of articulation than a traditional ML, so it wouldn’t inflate the cost that much. Making a new body certainly would as would adding 22 accessories to a single box. But if Hasbro wants to give us the basic figure plus a handful of smaller accessories, that should drop the prices by a good 85% from maximum prices to a regular 2-pack

I’ve just this week modded the Maximum Hulk head to make my own Capcom Hulk, so that’s no sale from me Hasbro.

I’d be tempted by Max Spidey in brighter game colours (lighter blue and almost orangey red), but they can 2 pack him with someone else - Doom or Magneto maybe?

I'd go for a Magneto.

Cost-wise it probably works out, but I think it would be a move that would sour folks who paid the premium price, regardless of the economics of it behind the scenes.

They have a lot of Spidey-bucks to choose from now though, who knows. I'd be very happy with brighter colors and that head style.

It’s more about optics than dollars and cents. I don’t think they’re going to have Max Spidey or Max Hulk still for sale and then offer alternatives for cheaper. They routinely keep older sculpts in production even when they lock onto an improvement, but maybe they’ll surprise us?
