Marvel Legends Gamerverse

For Gamerverse PS5 Spider-Man - anyone have any good swaps for an unmasked head? I can't think of any that would match all that well and I'm not invested enough to buy a third party head (some of which do look great).
I use the nice painted Peter Parker head from the RYV set. Doesn't look like the game character but it does look good. It's made for that body.

Heheh yeah, fuck Target. For their shitty preorder policies, and their larger policies in general.

I do have to remind myself that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and we just have to make the best choices we can. Target’s policies are weak and reactionary, but there are (unfortunately) much worse companies out there. That’s not an excuse, but it is a condition for action.

I did manage to get the preorder in. I’m probably in the minority for being more excited for Thanos than Psylocke, but I dig them both.
Yeah, given their absolutely head-up-asses policy shifts lately, I've put Target into the Walmart category for me - there's no ethical consumption in capitalism and if there's something I can get anywhere else, I will, but I'll cave and get exclusives from them or necessities I can't get anywhere else even though they were the go-to store before. Also Target carries the very specific stackable boxes I store my figures in, and... my anxiety-riddled collector brtain can't change now. THEY STACK. (The ever-living shame of when a Walmart box shows up with a Star Wars or Marvel exclusive in it... literally haven't bought anything that wasn't an action figure exclusive from Walmart in so long I can't remember..) Amazon I have a very weird relationship with on the ethics side because a SIGNIFICANT portion of my income comes from book sales there so I just keep referring to them as "the devil who pays on time."

@Schizm's ask about Peter Parker head options sent me into a "review my entire collection" curiosity rabbit hole yesterday - happy to take some comparison pics if you need side by side shots cos I was a little obsessed with getting a "good" Peter look a long while back. Unmasked head options for characters is my kryptonite, I can't help but get them.

I actually recently put the Peter Parker head from the maximum series onto the hood body. Something about those moss green pants and blue jacket really reminds of those early 90’s civilian Peter Parker colors. Also the skin tones match perfectly

I know you're talking more about a Peter Parker, but I never get to talk about my Hood custom, so I'm using this as an excuse.

I painted in the eyes on Vulcan, swapped some various parts around for my Hood, and grabbed a soft goods Cloak from Rebel10.

And then after that I got carried away and got him some swappable parts.

Is that the MCU Luis body? What are the hands from?

Your Hood looks great! That was a frustrating figure. Hood was all over the place in Avengers comics for such a long time. And then the figure we got ended up with such a bad hood and cape.

It's honestly shocking that multiple people at Hasbro and looked at what they had lined up for Hood and went "yep that works!"

Are we sure multiple people looked at it? I mean at minimum the packaging department and deco department weren't on the same page with green X-factor Jean Grey.

So I’ve been thinking it over and I’m pretty confident that these MvC packs are bound to show up earlier than some of their street dates reflect. Particularly the Wolverine set. And the reason for my logic is in the past, Hasbro has always made a big push when it came to their big anniversary sets. (ie the X-Men VHS assortments, the Spider-Man VHS packs, 80th anniversary collections, etc…) but other assortments like their regular BAF waves, retro carded waves and MCU figures will usually be outright street dates or they will have a much longer preorder window that vendors will adhere to.

So something tells me that since these Gamerverse sets are like the big product push for 2025, they will all start arriving around the time that the last pack is set to go up for preorder. Maybe early to mid August is my guess. Hasbro wants these figures above all others in collectors hands very quickly so they can hopefully draw in more hype by SDCC or NYCC and make another announcement regarding this project depending on the timing

Oh for sure. Especially in Canada and Europe, past few years it's felt like all these dates are just the worst case scenario for product that's already en route.

So one of the Hasbro ML guys posted asking about which Rivals characters people would want in Marvel Legends. I haven't played the game but was looking at some of the designs. Some aren't too different than stuff we've seen. And others are a bit busy for my tastes. Thor looks ok. As does Punisher. Any of them interest you?

The art style of the game doesn’t appeal to me. I think I’d need to see what ML could do with “neutralizing” some of these looks before I could commit. They seem unnecessarily busy.

I don’t play Rivals since I’m not a fan of arena shooters. Too claustrophobic of a gaming experience for me. I believe it was Dan who asked this question last week and he also stipulated on “Other figures for the Gamerverse line” to which I would say that I would be inclined to pick up some spider-man figures from the Neversoft Spider-Man title in 2000, X2: Wolverine’s Revenge from 2004 and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions in 2009

There are just too many classic looks that have been around for years that we still don't have and honestly it's kind of insulting that he is even asking about flash in the pan stuff from Rivals.
