Marvel Legends Gamerverse

There are just too many classic looks that have been around for years that we still don't have and honestly it's kind of insulting that he is even asking about flash in the pan stuff from Rivals.

Bingo. I would take figures from the THQ Punisher game, the Deadpool video game and the Unreleased Daredevil game before Marvel Rivals. And I know those titles would be considered Red Band today and Hasbro doesn’t dedicate their toylines to a lot of hard R rated stuff

MvC has more relevance than those other games. Especially since they got re-released by Capcom in that collection of games. I don't think they're going to do any of those unless there is some kind of remaster or new release collection of them

Clearly their marching orders are to make a 29th Wolverine design and a 14th Cyclops one. Rivals is just another look to put these characters in. Us long timers waiting for our Skurges and Mesmeros may be SOL. So it goes. We all get put out to pasture at some point.

I’m not sure what resonates with “kids”, but I’m pretty sure action figures aren’t even on that list to begin with. May be a moot point if the game resonates.

Yeah it very well could be that the legends team is reading the tea leaves wrong on this one like they did with their Fortnite series because toy collectors are older while the Fortnite players are younger and there is really no direct crossover between those two demographics. We ride the same river but we don’t take the same ferry kind of thing.

They also have to get approval from Marvel for things, and Marvel is probably more likely to approve something for Rivals than they are older games.

I have zero interest in Rivals figures - don't play it, and the designs don't appeal - but it makes all the sense for them to consider figures for ML.

Rivals has over 40 million registered users, whereas the best-selling comic of all time is the 1991 X-Men #1 at 8 million copies. Capcom's claim about the Marvel vs Capcom series across all titles is a total number of 12 million games sold for home systems which doesn't include revenue from arcade units. Last I heard the Playstation Spider-Man 2 game that the recent Gamerverse Spidey figures were based upon had sold around 11 million copies.

I'm not sure I'd call Marvel Rivals a flash in the pan given that it's one of if not the most popular Marvel game ever made. The game is absolutely amazing, although I'm biased because it's a clone of Blizzard's Overwatch which I'm also a huge fan of.

They can make all the video game legends they want. But I will buy none of them. I have zero interest in figures based on specific games. As far as Marvel video games go, I either never played them or had no time for them when they came out.

If Hasbro wants my money, I'm looking for classic comic looks and characters that have never been done before.

The only two Marvel-centric video games I really enjoyed and finished were Ultimate Alliance (surprising since I haven't liked turn based gameplay before or since) and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 1 and 2. Initially I bought the first one for my kids but I ended up playing it MUCH more than they did. Hoping for a third installment eventually. I've only ever dabbled with Marvel vs Capcom, which doesn't make sense since I love Street Fighter and Marvel Comics. I'm tempted to download it and give it another go.
