Yeah, I'll agree with you on the goats. Made me laugh hard everytime. And think of the Taylor Swift song montage, which took me right out of the movie for a minute.I still enjoy Ragnarok, but did feel they took enjoyable parts to their extreme in L&T. Korg especially was someone I found funny in Ragnarok but didn't enjoy at all in L&T.
For the record though... I did find the goats funny every time. I know I'm alone there.
My top five at this point... Probably:
Iron Man
Avengers
Homecoming
Endgame
Thunderbolts.
I STILL enjoy the hell out of Iron Man, and I'm sure nostalgia plays a part (it blew me away at the time, and my son watched that and Avengers sooooo much when he got a little bigger), and I really really really love Thunderbolts. It's definitely in my top three.Whoa!
Double whoa!
Oh, the song wasn't in the movie. I posted a link.I am so ignorant about Taylor Swift that I didn't realize she had a song in there, but I doubt it would have changed anything.
Yeah, Thunderbolts allllmost made my top 3 and ultimately will probably unseat Black Panther for that position.I really really really love Thunderbolts. It's definitely in my top three.
Maybe all the above. You're right, they all deserved better. Sif as well. Even Russell Crowe.Taika had another project he was more excited to work on, or the whole thing was written on a Ketamine trip.
*grumbling* do not get me started on Sif and the Three...Maybe all the above. You're right, they all deserved better. Sif as well. Even Russell Crowe.
Definitely. Though I caught a little bit of it the other day and may give it another shot soon. The Sif scene is so bad. Yes, L&T is one of my least favorite MCU movies for sure.
I think I watched Ragnarok the next day just to kinda rinse off and still liked it.I think I still really love Ragnarok, but I haven't watched it since I've watched L&T.
Agreed. I appreciate they tried something new and weird with Eternals but I also love alternative history stuff and their powers were neat and their relationships were enjoyable. I just really liked the damn movie.Post-Endgame, my favorite movies are Eternals (say what?) and Thunderbolts.
I did too. I have watched WF only once though and the loss of Boseman is a really steep hurdle for me still. But I would like to try that one again soon too.I also enjoyed Black Widow, Wakanda Forever and Shang-Chi.
This is the major difference for me. I have said before that I'm a major fan of all three evil deads but I don't think I have enjoyed anything else he has made. Spiderman was fine. But for me he always leans too hard into corn and three stooges. Even Drag Me To Hell, he couldn't help himself and has some snap zooms and stoogey antics. MOM had some of that as well, so I definitely don't see myself as a Raimi fan anymore. Just Ash. BUT also the Wanda stuff, which I lay at the feet of the screenwriter who smugly bragged about not even watching WandaVision.I even liked Multiverse of Madness, even though it hurts what was built in WandaVision, mainly because I love when Raimi does horror, but I know that's an unpopular opinion.
Quantumania I think is the only marvel movie that actually pissed me off. I get disappointed in stuff but it's like water off a duck's ass most times. Beyond Star wars at least. But quantumania REALLY pissed me off, for a movie.L&T, Quantumania and BNW are definitely bottom 3 MCU movies for me, I outright disliked them. Maybe upon rewatch, that might change.
I got your back. Eternals is a hill I will die on. I think it doesn't get much love cos it's less a superhero tentpole movie and more a rumination on heroism, power, and responsibility, and what it means to love humanity and whether or not humanity itself is worth saving. I think it's a smart, at times profound, and often deft movie that feels utterly alone and out of place in the MCU, and I think that's symbolic of the Eternals themselves. It might be the only non Endgame MCU film I thought about for weeks after I saw it.Post-Endgame, my favorite movies are Eternals (say what?) and Thunderbolts
