Here's what I'm thinking: a heirarchy of character visibility/viability
Movie Lead Character
Movie Supporting Character
Movie to TV Lead Character
TV Original Lead Character
Movie to TV Supporting Character
TV Original Supporting Character
D+ Wave 1 - all movie to TV characters, except US Agent - sold well
D+ Wave 2 - What If? wave + TV(A) Original Supporting - sold okay?
D+ Wave 3 - all Movie to TV or TV Original Leads - sold well (I thought)
D+ Wave 4 - one and a half Movie to TV Supporting Characters, all others TV Original Supporting Characters
D+ Wave 5 - one Movie to TV Lead, two Movie Supporting to TV Supporting, four TV Original Supporting Characters
Generally, it's the TV Original Supportings that have sold the worst. Which sucks. Also those last two waves got PFP'd - worth repeating.
I guess what I'm getting at here is it seems the viability of an MCU character getting made at this point is going to possibly be on the Movie Supporting level and up ONLY. The exception, of course, being DD and Punisher - but also, they are DD and Punisher (and somewhat grandfathered in).
With not even rumors of Echo, Ironheart, Agatha (the fact she double-dips is a coincidence), Wonder Man, or even Zombies and Wakanda Forever figures, it looks like we may be done with TV characters completely if even the leads aren't being deemed viable.
This all makes me really sad, as the depth this line had reached was making it so fulfilling. And most of the figures in these waves were good to great to outstanding, and all came with essential BAFs (BAWing debatable). Or... so we thought.
