Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

Would any sort of sticky tack or clear tape work? I'm sure it's a case-by-case basis and depends on how strong the individual figure's ankle joints are, but I'd assume it would help in holding her at least a little. I assume we're all trying to balance her on the flight effect stand, and not just laying flat?
Oh, yes all of that would help, but I haven't needed any of that so far. Mine has ankles tight enough to hold poses, it's just that sometimes as you're posing her joints away from the foot that plugs into the board peg it pulls out of the peg repeatedly. If there were two pegs you'd be able to manipulate her joints without her detaching from the board so much.

The easiest solution is to do your pose off the board and then put her on it once you've nailed the pose.

I can’t get her leaning forward to grab the top her her board
I suspect you're right since she doesn't have butterflies, a lower ab crunch, or enough range in the diaphragm joint, but what pose are you thinking of exactly here? I did some image searches for either real-world surfers or Silver Surfer doing this pose, but I couldn't find much. I did find the image below; is this close to what you were thinking?

The only figures I have likely of nailing this pose are Maximum Spidey or maybe the Mafex Spideys. You need a figure with hips capable of allowing the thighs to go up almost to 180 degrees, but the vast majority of figures only get around a 90 degree leg bend at the thigh. You can see in the pic below that Shalla-Bal's knee is touching her chest so that's close to a 180 degree thigh bend.

That's exactly the pose I was thinking, and I really didn't think I could get here there (not that kind of figure), but when I saw she came with a hand that could grip the edge of the board I REALLY wanted to try. I have no complaints about the figure overall though, I think she turned out gorgeous. (If a lil wobbly on the board, but I can get her in a dignified "people of EARTH" post and some great Naruto speeding forward poses too, dropped a few pics up thread.

I just tried having her really close to the front and the balance of the figure is there, but the board on the effect/stand is too imbalanced, it wants to launch forward if she's too far up front. Maybe blue tack the stand itself to the ground?

Does she actually have the sculpt with the arches and everything on the bottom of the foot?

Or does she just become flat like a shoe sole?

I had been posing her with her forward foot on the peg which is pretty simple, but y'all are right that putting her back foot on the peg and her other foot in front of that is more challenging--but you can do it. I'll post some pics soon.

The reason I'm finding it somewhat challenging is that the flame base has some flames on her right side that go farther forward on the board than the flames on her left, so she wants to tip towards her left where the base doesn't support the board as well. So if you balance her weight slightly towards her right where the flame base supports her better you can do it.

Here are a few poses with her back foot on the board's peg. No Legends figure aside from Maximum Spidey can bend their thighs up high enough to do the extreme crouch shown in that concept art I linked a few posts back, but if you fold one leg up under the board she can achieve a lean and grab with that open hand as shown in the third pic below.

As I noted in the last post the key to balancing her on the front is centering her weight slightly towards her right side on the board.

And just for fun since he can get a deeper crouch here's Maximum Spidey grabbing the board positioned both in the middle with his front foot on the peg as well as towards the front with his back foot on the peg. Again note that I'm heavily leaning his weight towards his right since the flame base holds him better on that side.

One of my favorite things ever done in the 1/12 ratio figures was the SS with the magnets in his feet and metal strip on the board. You could do so much crazy posing and as a added bonus you could keep putting him on the fridge to annoy the wife.

Well I wonder how much it will be because it seems like it's meant more for legends collectors at that size and with limited articulation.

I always wonder how many copies they manage to sell of a collectible that size.

They appear to have a firm handle on it since they limit every production run on every item I've ever seen them release and explicitly tell you how many they made. I don't buy their stuff so I only look occasionally, but from everything I can tell they forecast really, really well and sell out of most everything they make.

You all who buy Sideshow stuff please do fill in on anything I glossed over.

You all who buy Sideshow stuff please do full on anything I glossed over.
It does feel like a bespoke collecting opportunity. I'm happy with my lil plastic toys but more power to folks who can collect this stuff like art. I actually subscribe to a few of these high end companies' newsletters just to see their promo art even though I'll never buy 'em.
