Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

The opportunities for doomsday are endless.

I just hope for a single definitive MCU version for characters present and I hope they take this opportunity to fill out the missing fox x men characters - cyclops, beast, night crawler and of course gambit void-verse. I really hope Storm and Jean show their heads just to get figs of them!

I know MCU releases have been so sparse and unpredictable now though so who knows - hopefully not a wave of predominant repeat characters with minor costume variations

Wait, do you want the Nic Cage Ghost Rider or an awesome one?

I'm kidding. I never actually saw the movies and can't really comment. But I will be surprised if he isn't in Secret Wars.
Gabriel Luna said he would flame up again if they asked...

I really hope so man. I figured prior to Doomsday, we would have most of the characters down justice like the TBolts, F4, Cap and Joaquin, Gambit, Shang Chi, and Shuri. That would leave space for Doom and the legacy X-Men Like Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, hopefully Storm and Jean, and Magneto. I just want representation of all major players going forward because I’m trying to make Secret Wars my stepping off point and I need some XMen!

Side note: really hoping Secret Wars brings back Nic Cage Ghost Rider and his bike so we can get an awesome ghost rider for the MCU shelf!
At least in the case of Magneto, they did that DOFP one that had the sir Ian heads. So you could always use that if they don't do a proper one from Doomsday

DOFP Magneto is sitting proud on my shelf with Mystique! My long shot figure wishlist is a DPW 3 pack of Toad, Sabretooth, and Pyro, and a DP2 juggernaut so I can have a movie styled Brotherhood.

And Miek. My Korg desperately needs a Miek!

You know I was really hoping that Fox anniversary wave was true, so we could get Storm and Jean in some form. You wouldn’t have to do much work to Storm at all, and Jean could be passable as a comic esque version with some paint, but alas I’m afraid that leak was most likely false.

I suppose it's also possible that some D&W figures are store or fan channel exclusives, and wouldn't be announced alongside a regular wave. With a character like Gambit that (arguably) turned out to be the star of the show, I could see stores wanting him as their exclusive. It would be a total crap move, but I wouldn't put it past them. But especially since it's a safe bet that his costume will change at least a little bit for Doomsday, so any potential figure made wouldn't fit in with the D&W crew, I want one to go with Blade and X-23

I think that Fox X-Men wave could still be a thing. We still have a 2nd half of year left

I think so too. The demand is higher than ever for them, and it would free up space in the Doomsday waves for other characters (assuming their costumes are the same/similar). At the very least, they'd probably be able to reuse some parts for the X-Men in the Doomsday line, so more return on investment. Hasbro has surprised us before; heck, at this rate, even if it was announced tomorrow, it probably wouldn't release until shortly before Doomsday anyway.

I wonder if the deadpool pack is still in the works - I think the rumours were ladypool, baby pool, kid pool etc.

The lack of any lady pool rumours in the wave made me hit the trigger on the old Sauron wave lady pool. Apparently it’s a thing to chop and change the body with the recent red widow figure (going cheap on Amazon currently). Anyone done that as a stand in?

They got me with the first round of FoX-Men, but if prices launch into orbit they'll be among my first skips. Even being the right age for the films, I just don't have much nostalgia for them. Or at least not enough to talk myself into spending a ton of money for them.

I think maybe I've hit an anti-nostalgia era in my brain. I haven't watched Deadpool & Wolverine yet cos I just don't have any interest in all the cameos that got so much hype. I think I'm just dying to see them relaunch the mutants clean and let poor Hugh eat like a human and do his musicals in peace.

I get where you're coming from with that. I don't think I can be nostalgic for those movies anyway. I enjoyed the X-Men movie, and the second one, more than the Raimi Spider-Man movies but was never crazy about them the way I got with the MCU. Partly the costumes, partly them switching Wolverine and Storm's heights, but mostly I was firmly in a stage of "this isn't enough like the comics!", something I clearly came to terms with later.

But to me, the reason to watch D&W isn't the nostalgia but because you enjoyed the humor of the first two. If that isn't the case, then yeah skip away.

Raimi Spider-Man, all the nostalgia. I have a lot less nostalgia for the X-Men movies. Very all over the place in quality and the designs were boring. But some of these I think will work in the display especially since I don't see all the characters being made for Doomsday. But I am going to get whoever they make in Doomsday

I saw movie Electro at Target and was shocked when I scanned the price. $40. And that's not a tariff thing. $40 for what??? The lightning bolts? Remember when they would occasionally put bigger/more accessories in an additional plastic tray that was behind the main figure tray in a standard package and charge a standard price? That didn't happen ALL the time, but on occasion. What happened to that practice? I was able to do a price match and get him into the low $30s, still keeping the receipt because this guy is going into the $20s or lower when he hits clearance. I tell ya........

That too. I am so over Deadpool in general. I never found the yuk-yuk side of the character particularly entertaining, and Reynolds, while I think is PERFECTLY CAST, has always been nails on a chalkboard to me. I've come to realize I just don't enjoy stories that lean heavily on "bits" and that makes me feel old, but Deadpool, and Reynolds, are very good at doing bits. (I'm also mildly traumatized by working too many pre-COVID comic cons with the books and running into too many hooligans in Deadpool masks. I'll never forget when a friend, who was known locally as always cosplaying "Hot Captain America," stopped by my table and said: "whenever something obnoxious happens at these things, it involves a Deadpool" just as a breakdancing Deadpool puked in his own mask.)

I liked the first few FoX-Men movies, and think Hugh poured his SOUL into playing Logan, but I'll always be like: he's great, but he needed to be under five foot ten at a maximum, Hugh's not wolverine-sized, he's dire wolverine sized)

I agree, he is overpriced. He doesn't come with a glider or has tentacles that I can recognize would add to the price. He's a normal sized guy with electric effect pieces. I obviously got him cause I wanted all 5 villains, but he is definitely the worst in terms of value
