Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

SM3 Tobey came today. I know the articulation and such wasn't the best on the figure, but that being said, I love how he looks in the black suit more than the classic colors. This is probably my favorite movie Spider-Man figure I own. I always loved this suit, and they did a great job on it. The Maguire head is meh, but mine is always going to be masked.

I hope one day we get Venom and New Goblin

I’m hoping the Doomsday delay gives them time to do some really cool figures. I’ve narrowed down figures to one definitive version for the shelf, and with Doom as an obvious in, I’m hoping the rest will be a good figure for each of the Fox X-Men coming back so I can put them with the already released movie XMen, and the rumored Deadpool and Wolverine figures coming. Also really hope they give us Bucky and Ghost from the Thunderbolts movie. All of those, plus the fantastic four already confirmed, and I pretty much will be satisfied shelf wise. I’m choosing Secret Wars to be my jumping off point for both figure collecting and as a die hard MCU fan, so I really hope they go all out for figures. Obviously it will be hard to tell what we get for Secret Wars, but my main hope is that Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider will be back so he can be my Ghost Rider for the collection! As a kid who grew up with those pre MCU movies and the actual MCU, these would be my preferred versions, probably won’t bother with anything post rumored reboot of the MCU, though Notable exceptions to that rule would be any cinematic Spidey Villains! (Come on Scorpion, Kraven, and ASM2 rhino!)

Welcome! You're in good company here! Nice wishlist; I agree on pretty much all points. Nice to see some love for Cage's Ghost Rider too. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for that movie- it's ridiculous, but lots of fun. I'd love to see Ghost Rider back on the big screen in any form (a flaming skull riding a motorcycle?! Come on- so cool!) but one last send-off for Cage would be great.

It really is a great figure. I don't think we ever got a super-posable SM3 Black Suit Spidey- at least on the same level as the SM2 super-posable Spidey-, so this really is the next best thing. The little Symbiote attachment is a great inclusion too, and could be used with any figure, I suppose. I kept the mask on Spidey and stuck the emo Toby head on an extra suited body, and I dig it. I do think Tobey could've benefitted from a more interesting expression- a smirk or something, but I suppose it fits that emo style to not show much emotion.

I agree- I'd really love the rest of the Raimi villains in current Legends form. I stuck one of the comic Sandman hands on NWH Sandman yesterday to add a little visual flair (looks decent enough, even if the colors don't match), but it really just left me wanting a regular green shirted Sandman even more. I've always had a thing for shape-shifters. I'm sure there's an easy enough 3 or 4 pack they could give us with the 3 SM3 villains, even if it means having to pick up another black suit Spidey in the process.

It'll never happen, but I'd even take a Sony Morbius, Kraven, and Madame Web at this point, since who knows the next time we'll see any of those 3 characters on the big screen again?
 
My Electro I got from the Amazon sale is out for delivery and now it is really making me want to pull the trigger on that Lizard.

This isn't the attempt that really caught my eye, but I am tempted to paint some stripes on Sandman. There was one where they were really faint but really nice and I, of course, can't find it. It's probably in an open tab somewhere in my browser. 😬

That looks pretty cool! If I ever tried to customize my own, the green stripes would be all sorts of sloppy and crooked. 😅 If we ever do get an SM3 Sandy, I'd probably want him to look a bit more human, though. Something about the light body horror of a normal looking dude melting into sand in places is cooler to me than a dude made entirely of sand, if that makes sense. As much as I do like and appreciate the NWH figure, it does skew a bit more chicken nugget.
 
Yeah, NWH Sandman I think they could have done more with. I would like to see a SM3 version made at some point. Venom and New Goblin are higher on my want list, though.
 
Human Torch is looking good even with the most bare bones accessories which is to be expected at this point. I want to like the movie and I want to like the figures. If he's < $30 I'll bite.
 
Being hyped about the movie might be the thing that gets me to finally find a proper display for Galactus. He's currently stored to prevent the new kitten from f*cking with him, but...
