Marvel 1/6 Scale (Mondo, Hot Toys, etc.)

UGH. Beast is gonna be SO expensive right now. But I guess it's either him or Jean after Storm...

And he looks so good!

Mondo has started teasing Sinister on socials so prepare your wallets if he's something you're interested in. I think that one is going to hurt. I'm guessing he'll go up sometime next week.

Ah man - Sinister looks slick. But $265 - dang. Plus tariff and shipping. These figures just aren't $300+ worth it.

Definitely gonna wait it out and see what the regular release versions come with. Although they've yet to announce regular versions of the new Wolverine or Kurt.

Random Mondo question - are their non-limited/timed-from-the-start products typically one run and done or do they make additional production runs? I'm pretty sure they did another regular Rogue production run, but not sure if that was a one-off situation.

I don’t think they have re-run any timed sets or convention exclusives, but I do believe the intent is to keep the standard releases in the rotation as demand permits.

I wouldn’t bet on this being re-released as a standard edition. The limitedness is part of their approach.

I do wish they’d slow these down, though.

Is Sinister the third one this year for X-Men? Not including variants like brown suit Wolverine and Savage Land Rogue. It definitely really hurts if you're all in on those plus Spider-Man. For me, only getting X-Men, the pace is tolerable. I also passed on Nightcrawler so Sinister will only be number 2 for me this year. They may or may not do a live stream next week to talk about it and we may find out if there's another edition expected during that stream. They're pretty good about answering questions like that. It would be nice to know as some of the accessories are pretty damn useless to me. I don't care about his shadow buddy or the old man head, but then again, the difference in price is often only 20 bucks or so. It's certainly not nothing, but 20 bucks off a 300 dollar item isn't even 10%.

I've only paid attention to Mondo since they started the X-Men figures, but almost all of them had the Limited Edition release with extra accessories followed by a regular release. Is that not normal? Wolverine, Jubilee, Magneto, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue - all like this. Not Omega Red, I think? But the two different versions were announced at the same time.

Most of the Batman/Spider-Man lines as well.

I just assumed Regular Editions were coming once the figures got closer to actual release. If not, they should have clarified they were changing their pattern before Wolverine/Kurt.

They used to put them up at the same time, but haven’t been of late. A standard version of Carnage did go up shortly after the limited edition, but I think that’s been it. No standard Wolverine or Nightcrawler have been made available, but I would assume both are coming given their popularity. Sinister is less of a guarantee, but given all of the unique tooling it would make sense to do another run if this one sells out. The language in the listing would seem to imply a different version is on the way: “Restricted to 1250 units, our deluxe Limited Edition variant features exclusive extras, including additional portraits plus a Sinister Shadow buddy.”

Sinister is up for preorder with expected delivery in March. The tariff surcharge was $24, or just a tick over 9%, and shipping was $31. The total damage after taxes for me was just under $340. I bought it, but that price takes all of the fun out of it. Hopefully it's a distant memory come March, but this sucks.

Looks like they finally put up a standard Wolverine and Nightcrawler. Seems to be now that there's a 3-6+ month wait in between putting up preorders for limited edition and standard figures (although the actual delivery may be closer in time for both types of figures).

I hate that they made the 92 head for Nightcrawler exclusive to the timed edition when this collection began as a 92 one.

I’m a little late to the party but I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Hot Toys Deadpool 3 figure

Mondo did their stream last night on Sinister. I missed it so I'm just catching up now. Apparently, Sinister's cape had to be done with ABS so that it would hold its shape indefinitely, but that is a little scary as that means it could be quite brittle. I hope their factory knows what they're doing so a bunch don't arrive damaged. Definitely don't let this guy near the edge of your shelf because a shelf dive could be disastrous.
