Marvel 1/6 Scale (Mondo, Hot Toys, etc.)

HA - my Rogue is on my desk in front of me and she is definitely leaning back on the box behind her - which is not how she started. I have SUCH trouble getting her to stay on this base which means my places to put her are limited because with her height she needs to go on top of a bookshelf BUT I've already had her throw herself off one once and don't want to risk a break or paint chip.

I feel like I won the lottery because my Rogue has been on her Sentinel base ever since I got her with no shelf dives. I've taken her off and posed her differently, swapped hands and portraits, and she goes back on no trouble. I was very nervous at first because there's just so much on these figures that any shelf dive could be hazardous. I even have throw pillows on the floor below the shelf I have my Mondo figs on for that reason.

Carnage is still up. Definitely selling slower than Nightcrawler. Hopefully Mondo either rethinks pricing or frequency of releases.

It probably speaks to the popularity of Carnage vs Nightcrawler, and of the Spider-Man cartoon to X-Men that he's still up (and without the "almost gone" warning). And also, customers don't really like having something taken away especially without any sort of explanation which is what happened with the removal of free shipping. I'm a little surprised they haven't just come out and said "tariffs" in regards to that, but it sure seems like Mondo is trying to hide from controversy rather than face it. Ordinarily, for these solicitations they'll pair it with a live stream, but they have opted not to do so for both Carnage and Nightcrawler and I can only assume it's because they know the chat will be full of the same question and some ranting. The guys who host those videos are in design so they don't set the prices, but still, they're not ignorant either. It's too bad though, and I hope the higher prices don't kill the line.

Also, I recently watched their last live stream on Mumm-Ra and someone asked a question about Storm. It was a multi-part question that ended with "Storm a SDCC?" and Hector replied "Yes to all," in response so it sure sounds like we'll be seeing Storm soon. I'm guessing she'll be next up after Sinister, assuming he doesn't get delayed.

I wonder if the limited editions selling out more slowly will also kill a lot of the FOMO around Mondo's lines. There's likely a non-trivial amount of people who buy the limited edition figures because they were selling out in five minutes either because of FOMO or because of scalping. But if they're now too expensive for a large chunk of former buyers.

I hope they're not afraid to bring some of these back when/if the situation improves to the point where they can go back to doing things as they had done previously. It would suck to miss out on Nightcrawler with the '92 portrait because some jackass screwed up international trade and made the price exorbitant.

THEY GOT THE BOOTIES RIGHT!

I don't care that it matches Marvel Snap - THIS is how the Hasbro version should look. Not like Ana de Armas had an egg splat on her head, but like ROGUE.

I really want the alt heads in this pack. DANG IT.

She looks good and I’m so glad I don’t feel like I need this. I wonder if they’ll do a Magneto to pair with her for NYCC?

This is a cool looking figure but wish they’d break new ground. There have been four Wolverines and three Rogues released in this line.

I thought the exclusive was going to be Sinister.

It NOT being Sinister is better. At least it's a variant that not everyone will want, so people can feel fine with missing it. If it WERE Sinister and people couldn't get him, there would be NERD RAGE all over social media and every post Mondo made after that.

I’m not seeing the production number for the Rogue or Batman: TAS Robin figure. Both are listed as “Limited Edition,” though. Wonder if they’re producing more than typical and don’t want to advertise it.

I hope this isn't like the deluxe Rogue when I was a minute late and missed out.

The last figure I preordered was Wondercon MotU Goddess. I don't see any numbers, just Limited Edition. I want to say she was available for approximately 15 minutes, but I'm not 100% sure. I got my order in just in time for that one. I had her in my cart, then I went back to look at the pictures one more time to make sure I "needed' it. That little delay almost cost me.

I feel like their variants usually don’t sell out quickly so you may be fine with Rogue. If you want it I’d still plan to be on their website ready to go when she drops.

Mondo had a SDCC preview show last night on YouTube. They showed a production sample of Sinister so he must be getting ready to go up for preorder soon. They also teased Storm by showing an accessory of a little plant with a rain cloud over it. Expect to see her at the con.

The Mondo SL Rogue is so much more exciting than the ML SL Rogue that looks just meh. And since this is such a one off look, meaning no other X-Men really fit with it, I'm fine with it being a larger sale.

Unfortunately, that credit card debt that I mentioned like a week or so ago.........it's worse now :(
