Magic the Gathering Legends

The risk-averse thing isn't really unfounded when it's a Peter Parker release - I feel like if there's one character who will sell even in a format or look that might not be popular, Pete's it. When I first got serious about collecting I found if I was on the fence about a Peter Parker Spider-Man, I should just bite the bullet and preorder or be okay with missing it. (Hence my caving on this one, to be honest.)

Yea, I'm just pretty jumpy since I've never paid over MSRP for a retail release in my ML collection for the whole line. The only one I've missed was that worse-looking Mysterio with the green skull.

I beat myself up for weeks over paying slightly above MSRP for Wal-Mart exclusive Joe Fixit after he'd been OOS on their website for months. Fast forward and he was filling shelves at my closest Ollie's and available on Pulse Outlet. One of the only things I've ever paid above MSRP for.
 
I'm just looking at these as the new price of doing business. If they make a character we want, we're going to have to pay a "tax" for getting them, be it a useless $15 card, or a 2-pack with yet another damn Spider-Man or Wolverine. Not happy about it, but it seems to be the more likely pattern going forward.

Ironically, if they make an "Iron Man tax", and have a new Iron Man armor in a 2-pack, I'd be happy to pay that. More armor for the Armory.
 
Really excited about this new program since I think it looks great, but not pre-ordering. Not yet anyway. I want everyone besides Anti-Venom right now, but will wait until fall. They look great and I hope the forthcoming Captain America looks like the card art I've seen already.

They do stuff like this, but then we still get things like the minicomic wave with Banshee or a glorious Rom figure at regular prices, the rare BAF wave with desired characters, or the Starfox/Champion 2-pack. It's a real mixed bag, this line.

Right... I was like... Man Wolf was in that outfit in the 70's... how does that not count as 'classic'? Classic and First Appearance are different things.

So - alll of the battle damage detail on Spider-Man is sculpted right? Not just painted on?

$40 ???? Pass. I was expecting $30 tops! These tariffs are bad. Making toy companies great again yet?

Brings me back to the old days when you could spot just piles and piles of battle-damaged Spider-Man Classics and Tobey Maguire Spideys at KBToys. I think they stuck around until they ordered all the ML1 Toads or something.

It was funny to see this figure announced and realize how long it’s been since I’ve gotten a battle damaged figure that wasn’t just the regular one with black smudges or something.

LOL, secure your order first, THEN tell your friends on the internets about it.

I'm not too keen on ML now having two sub lines with price hikes for very questionable reasons.
Maximum - $25 more, some extra little parts, may or may not be a new sculpt
Magic - $15 more, a trading card

eh........
