Discuss Medicom MAFEX's DC comic, DCEU, and Gunnverse(?) figures.
Superman is far, far down on the list of fictional characters I care about. He's somewhere between Charlie Brown's teacher and Zombie #9 from the Thriller video. Even I know that a Superman figure without a smiling option is incomplete. The only reason I didn't pull the trigger on Hush Superman is that he doesn't have a smiling head. It makes sense story wise, but I need a smiling head for my Superman.
I am right there with you where Superman is concerned.Superman is far, far down on the list of fictional characters I care about. He's somewhere between Charlie Brown's teacher and Zombie #9 from the Thriller video. Even I know that a Superman figure without a smiling option is incomplete.
I picked up Bane and Hush Superman at a convention last week, and despite my best efforts to get into 1/6 stuff and away from 1/12, I fear MAFEX has me.
Hoping they reissue Knightfall Batman soon and continue with that line. Also hoping they expand the DC options; I'd love if they start doing figures from JLA or Infinite Crisis. I'd also love if I never have to look at another movie figure for as long as I live.
Said this before on the Fwoosh boards (same username there, just in all lowercase), but I seriously want Mafex to give us figures from Grant Morrison's JLA run (Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Green Lantern, etc.) and Geoff Johns' JSA run (Mr. Terrific, Flash, Hawkman, Green Lantern, Captain Marvel, etc.) and any other characters from the 90s/early 00s DC Universe.
I mean look, you've come this far. If I were in your position I'd just suck it up this one last time and complete the set than trying to mix and match in something else that will probably look bobbins in comparison.I got my tarrif prep email from bbts. Mafex Superboy, previously $114, is down to $99, but that's without the new mystery tariff change added. I'm afraid this guy is going to end up being unaffordable and my Reign foursome will be incomplete. Should start trying to scope out a DCUC version, perhaps. It's passable, and I'm typically fine with mixing lines. This will just be the first time I mix modern high end with 20 year old domestic. Think there will be a difference in quality?![]()

Aw, what's that like? Is it nice? Do you guys have dip? Whats the cheese situation? Can you bring me along? Please?I mean look, you've come this far. I accept though that it's very easy for me to say, I don't live in Nightmare Land and will simply order him from a Japanese retailer as usual with no problems.
That's the first thing even remotely resembling good news I've heard in a while regarding all this.Medicom is in Japan, not China, and the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is working to eliminate any tariffs on Japanese imports. Right now there are none so hopefully Superboy just shows up for $99 on BBTS once they get him, and hopefully he still releases in April and BBTS gets him in early May before any tariffs get assessed.
My guess is that whatever happens with the Japanese trade talks that any new tariffs get assessed well after BBTS gets their Superboy shipment in. If the release gets delayed by 2+ months then who knows, but I bet that even if Japan imports get tariffed it will be pretty small; maybe $5 to $10 extra on Mafex figures.
