Jakks Pacific Simpsons

probably a sacrilegious thing to say but looking at the photos of these Samurai Jack figures, I wouldn't have minded if we had a Simpsons figure line that pulled back on the articulation in favor of interchangeable parts/more accessories. (granted this is closer to what Super7 had been doing)

quite a few of the joints on the Jakks figures are unsightly and not even all that useful (especially on figures with thicker limbs). but a lot of this is isn't so much Jakks's fault in my opinion so much as it is issues that any company would have adding articulation in such chunky, under-detailed figure designs.

they're still okay though

Yeah, I've always thought those little 5 poa figures were really nice and detailed- the Scooby Doo set is still tempting, and the Batman 66 set from a couple years ago was as well. Simpsons characters aren't really ones I need a whole lot of articulation for- I'd be just as happy, if not happier, with some pre-posed minis, just as long as it captures the essence of the individual character.

I dunno if there is as big a market for Simpsons figures as there are for, say, TMNT or Thundercats but maaaan I still feel Super7's line would be on like wave 9 by now if they hadn't messed up like they did.

I would definitely be okay with the Mezco 5 POA approach for Simpsons. Most of the limbs in the show just aren’t designed for articulation so swapping out arms and legs makes sense. The ReAction Simpsons were, in some ways, better than the Ultimates though the high price and essentially useless articulation sucked.

Very strange wave. 2 dead/retired characters, grampa who is nearly dead, and a Bart nobody asked for. At least it’s a new Bart that Playmates didn’t do. Troy is one I wasn’t expecting for the line so that’s nice. Really wish we’d get some of the 2” line main characters though.

I do actually want Crazy Cat Lady
I'd totally take one too, to be honest. My Mom always jokes that's what she's gonna be like when she gets older. Me too, probably, given the sheer amount of cat videos I like on a daily basis.

If there's one thing Simpsons excels at, it's memorable tertiary characters.

I want an entire wave of Troy McClure figures. The only smart thing Super7 did with The Simpsons was the ReAction wave of Troys.

I'd given up hope on ever finding the 2 inch Comic Book Guy. Saw him at a local comic shop a couple months back for $25 and passed him up and kicked myself for it. Decided to stop in at Five Below today on a whim, and they'd restocked the shelf. It was, always primarily Barts- both the orange shirt and Kamp Krusty, but there were 2 Grandpas and a Milhouse, so I thought why the heck not; looked through the pegs and there was a single Comic Book Guy and a single Ralph. Couldn't quite believe it. I always love finding things I'm not expecting to- always feels surreal, especially since I'd just the other day resigned myself to probably never finding him. He and Ralph are obviously shortpacked- sorta the "chase" figures in a way, but they are out there, so check your Five Belows!
