Jakks Pacific Simpsons

I do think it needs to be easier to get single figures online, especially from the smaller line. I'm surprised that even going through something like Jakks' Amazon page only shows you a handful of figures- mostly the larger ones. It's always so surprising to me that these even somewhat big brands don't have more of a direct store on their website, just places that show you where to buy their products. Even Mattel- sure, they have Mattel Creations, but no direct store to get the more widely produced stuff. I do worry that'll hurt the line in the long run too; only ever being able to get a case of the smaller figures, and being SOL if/when that sells out. With both scales, though, most of my local stores only get them in once, it seems, and after those sell, it's nothing for months. The speed of releases is great- it's nice that they're getting so many out, but the fact that I never know if I'll be able to find them, or finding a new wave while never seeing the previous one anywhere and having to somehow play catch-up is a real turn off.

Didn't know Barney was rare, though, which bums me out. I actually had him in my hands a month or two ago but passed because I was trying to be responsible. Not that that really means anything- to me, 95% of the line is rare!

Direct sales can mean you're essentially competing with your largest buyers, the stores you're bending over to try to make happy. It can be self-defeating depending on how its done and it's also a ton of additional infrastructure costs. I'm surprised Hasbro goes as far as they do with Pulse.
