Jakks Pacific Simpsons

I do think it needs to be easier to get single figures online, especially from the smaller line. I'm surprised that even going through something like Jakks' Amazon page only shows you a handful of figures- mostly the larger ones. It's always so surprising to me that these even somewhat big brands don't have more of a direct store on their website, just places that show you where to buy their products. Even Mattel- sure, they have Mattel Creations, but no direct store to get the more widely produced stuff. I do worry that'll hurt the line in the long run too; only ever being able to get a case of the smaller figures, and being SOL if/when that sells out. With both scales, though, most of my local stores only get them in once, it seems, and after those sell, it's nothing for months. The speed of releases is great- it's nice that they're getting so many out, but the fact that I never know if I'll be able to find them, or finding a new wave while never seeing the previous one anywhere and having to somehow play catch-up is a real turn off.

Didn't know Barney was rare, though, which bums me out. I actually had him in my hands a month or two ago but passed because I was trying to be responsible. Not that that really means anything- to me, 95% of the line is rare!

Direct sales can mean you're essentially competing with your largest buyers, the stores you're bending over to try to make happy. It can be self-defeating depending on how its done and it's also a ton of additional infrastructure costs. I'm surprised Hasbro goes as far as they do with Pulse.

Walmart and Target prove over and over again collector figures just are not their priority. Sure they want them and carry them but it’s more out of some kind of weird corporate fomo. They really don’t give a crap about them as long as Hasbro still sells them all the kids toys. The collector stuff is limited to like a case or two per store, gets bought almost immediately and then the pegs remain empty for months until the next wave comes out. If they even put half a thought into that, they’d just sell these exclusively on their websites and not waste the retail shelf space that’s going to be physically empty 99% of the time. If it’s not empty is usually because they over order or the figure just did not click with fans. Black Series Lando still hangs around and instead of hitting clearance he’s somehow gotten dragged along with each new price hike. If he didn’t sell at $20 5 years ago, he’s not going to sell at $28 now

I had zero interest in collecting this line but when I found 1 each of Homer, Krusty and Moe at Ross recently for $8.99, I went ahead and bought them. Even then I had to think about it and was 50/50 on it. I'd probably buy more at that price point if I see them, but otherwise am not going to go looking. I've never seen these anywhere else, ever.
Found Barney and Bart at Ross today for $7.99 each so now my collection is up to 5. LOL Passed on Bartman.

I feel like I've got to at least get Lisa and Marge/Maggie now.

that said, I think there's a lot of room to improve on the Toynami figures. so I'd definitely be open to some new Futurama figures.

The dead giveaway that those are customs or fantasy mockups is all the paint on Zoidberg. I think Jakks is more allergic to paint than Hasbro.

Ahhh, the Glowing Ghost. Been following him for years now and yet still, whenever he posts something, there's a split second where I think it's real, until I see who posted it. 😅 I'd take an updated Futurama line for sure; got into the show too late for the original figures, but I'd love at least the core group, Zoidberg especially. And considering how many times it's been brought back over the years, I'd say there's still a healthy audience for it.

Yeah, I'd be all over Futurama figures. I'm one of the probably 20 people that picked up the off-brand Lego Bender kit from Walmart not too long ago.

Ah man, customs............. Still, amazing work. The animated "The Batman" he posted is amazing as well.

I also bought that, but haven't built it yet.
