Jada Street Fighter

Got Vega from BBTS yesterday. I haven't opened him yet, but he looks great in package.

I'm ready to put bets down that Balrog will be the funnest figure in the line. His sculpt looks clean, nice V shape body and proportions, big dude, he's going to rock! He just looks so good:

I just hope those shoulders really butterfly well. He needs it for sure

That’s probably my one issue with cammy, needs more shoulder movement
 
Just eyeballing it it LOOKS like his ripped sleeves are the butterfly joints, and if that's the case, that's awesome. A boxing character really needs them though. Always drove me nuts on older Daredevil bodies when he couldn't get into a proper boxing stance.

100% agree. I need him to be able to like move his arms as far to the front as possible to get into proper boxing stances.

Jada does seems to the best articulation out of all of the under $30 figures though (except for maybe Storm arena… but don’t have any yet), so I have some hope.

I was just reorganizing some of my shelves and kind of frustrated how limited the articulation is on especially a lot of the female figures out there.

The newest Masterverse she ra has a lot of joints but they often don’t do what you want
 
I think the only character in this line I wasn't THRILLED about the articulation on was Guile, and he wasn't bad, just not as good as the others I think. His shoulders just looked weird, like he was from a different line. But even then for this price? Great figure.

Vega is like a snake. His articulation is SMOOOOOTH. Great figure.

Guile was probably the one character period that I wasn't thrilled about, nothing against him, was always just kinda underwhelmed for one reason or another, but he ended up being one of my top 10 figures of last year, and it's even better in blue! (I need more of his dogtags, though. So I can give them to other figures lol)
 
While we're talking about Guile, one of my biggest issues with that figure is the skin tone. It's too orange, like Ryu and Ken. He also has a weird face print (he's got cat eye eyeliner?). His thighs could be a little longer too, they're pretty short compared to his shins and his short legs overall kind of give midget proportions. Combined with the too-big shoulders and he's one of my least-favorite Jada SFs.

But, I mean, even saying that, he's still a very nice figure. Getting Storm Arena Ken with a ridiculously tight knee reminded me how I've never had any bad joints on a single Jada figure. I only had one QC issue: Fei Long came with two of the same head. Emailed Jada about it and I had a replacement head in two or three business days, it was crazy.

The only real QC design issue I have with these figures is that the heads pop off too easily. And if you pose aggressively, that bottom ball seated in the neck will start falling out, and then it's downhill from there. At least it happened with my first run Ryu, who I pose very aggressively (he's the beat-up dummy for all the new figures).

My Cammy is really gummy, which deflated that purchase. I haven't even gone back to reevaluate her as a figure after posing her & sticking her in my Classified display.

My first release Ryu & Fei Long both had scary ankle tilts that I had to boil them, pull the feet off, and clear away some plastic from the holes so I didn't end up twisting off the pegs. And one of them (I think Ryu?) had TERRIBLE paint QC on one of their heads (but at least not both, so I could still happily use one for display).

Otherwise, they seem to get better with each release.

Blanka & Sagat are fucking INCREDIBLE.

Yeah I might be biased to forget about earlier issues because these guys came so buttery-smooth and clean. Heavy, big figures with high ROM, good balance, they're really "peak" as the kids say. I'm going to open Vega tonight and probably rant on here about how amazing he is soon.
 
I can't yet get him, and when I do, he's gonna sit for a bit in my PoL, so I'm definitely living vicariously through everyone else who has him in hand, lol.

A figure-poser I follow on IG put his extra claw on one of his left hands so he could go all Wolverine, and it looked frickin great, lmao.
 
Finally have Vega now- in hand, I have no complaints other than agreeing that he would benefit from toe hinges. I especially felt that since I just opened Storm Arena Ken before cracking Vega open. Otherwise, love the sculpt, colors and articulation.
