Jada Street Fighter

They may as well have punched the box exactly where it says "handle with care".

Also be careful your address is right out in the open there!!!!
Thanks, I'm gonna delete the pic, completely didn't even think about the address being on there. Fortunately there aren't any serial killers on Articlated Thoughts... right? (RIGHT?)

That out of the way, Dhalsim is fricken fantastic, I can't stop posing him. He's even better in player 2 colors I think, just weird and fun. I really like Bison too, though I still prefer the previous release color-wise. And... dare I say it... I REALLY don't like the burning bodies and I thought I did. They're kinda sticky/tacky and I wonder if they're going to melt away over time. The material used for them feels actively unpleasant. Probably my ONLY complaint about Jada's SF offerings so far though.

Just did a bit of reorganizing since I've got the new Dhalsim and Bison (I really can't stop messing with Dhalsim, what a great figure) and got Vega showing up from BBTS this weekend and jjust found that classic M. Bison's cape stains EVERYTHING. Anyone have a suggestion for getting dye off a figure, particularly for the more rubbery parts of the Jada figures? MB's back is slightly stained, but the real victim is Ken whose arm looks bruised up from it. It DOES feel like the alternate versions of MB use a different dye (his cloak isn't tacky at all). Want to try to get some of the black ink off poor Ken if I can.

This is how I feel about Vega and Blanka's hair. Maybe it's the same material as Cammy and Ken, but in those quantities, it's skooshy and a little sticky and just reminds me of how the old Toy Biz figures aged.

Ugghh, I have a bin full of the toybiz Lord of the Rings figures. They physically haven't aged well at all. I really don't know what to do with them. I always take care of my stuff, but they're in a state where I don't think anybody would really want to buy them if I tried to sell them, even for dirt cheap. I don't know if I could emotionally handle throwing Sam and Gandalf into the trash, the look of disappointment on their faces would crush me.

Oof. That's awful. Hate dye stains.

I've heard folks having success with zit cream getting them out. Think it's a trick they picked up from doll collectors who've had the same problem. I think there's a method to it involving letting it sit outside with the cream on. I'm sure a quick Google could give you more details.

For sticky figures, a soak in some dish soap (like Dawn) works really well. For the stubborn ones, I'll left them sit then scrub them with a toothbrush. It's not too hard to get the larger areas sticky-free this way, though some of the smaller parts, joints, and such can drive you mad.

As for dye stains, I'd try a Magic Eraser sheet. I've even had success with those taking color off of a painted part without messing up the paint underneath. Try it dry first, and if that doesn't work you can moisten it. I've never used them for fabric stains, but it would be my first try.

Those are two options I'd never heard before. Thanks! The stains haven't fully ruined the figure but it's enough to bother me and man, I hate when they don't test out the fabrics to make sure it's not going to rub off on other parts - MB's cape actually stuck to and stained the back of his shirt, too.

When I took textiles class, I was told to always run these fabrics under cold water on account of the cheapness. I don't know if it really helps, but it's part of unboxing with the hot water bath.

Today I received 5 figures in the mail and barely any time to open them. I had to be choosey. The three cookie cutter DC Multiverse figures had to wait for another day. Vega I opened with my daughter bugging me to play with her every 45 seconds. I'll have to really soak up that figure later. This Crystal Ball figure, man, he's a trip! I'm an opener but I held off to look at him in package and admire how much they put in here.....in a standard release. Then I open him and he just looks wild all geared up. He's going to pop on any Joe shelf. You could make a case for this guy to be high on the list of GI Joe of the year.

LOL.....I meant to post this in the Classified thread. Oops. Well, I mentioned Vega, at least. He lives up to all the hype. I'm just going to leave this here and post the same thing in Classified.

When I get a POl shipped Ive started doing it where I only open one on a day.

I get a lot more enjoyment out of each figure that way.

I started with my Jada SF figures, so last couple days I opened cammy, blanka, and vega.

Overall these figures are just way better in hand. They have kind of a lot of subtle shading that doesn’t show well in most pictures or YouTube videos.

Vega is cool, but I kind of wish his spare mask wasn’t rubber.
- Cammie is quite nice
- but blanka is the standout imo. He’s quite big but his articulation is great for such a large character. Way better than what marvel legends would typically do

Got a bunch of Jada Street Fighter figures in from BBTS after they got my favorite character, Vega. Love this line!

Vega— always my favorite character design from Street Fighter. Vega is awesome. In terms of actually playing fighter games, I was really into Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Mortal Kombat. Barley played Street Fighter, so I don’t recognize any inaccuracies in this Vega figure. He’s just awesome in hand. I’ve always loved the creepy mask and Wolverine claw. Poses super nice. Love this one.

Blanka— so cool that he can get into deep crouching poses. Love the way he looks with these electric effects!

Sagat— my first Sagat figure. Very impressed by how much great range of motion he gets for such a big character.

I need to get Deejay. Then I will have every character so far. Such a good line. I wish they’d make Mortal Kombat, Tekken, or Soul Calibur!

Honestly, my biggest hope is for Storm Arena to reacquire MK, Tekken, and Soul Calibur... that scale and price point is SO much better suited for basically all fighting game franchises than Collectibles ever was. And they wouldn't have the rights issues with Bandai America and Mcfarlane, like Jada would.

Cracked open Vega tonight from BBTS. Beautifully smooth joints and posing, might be my favorite figure in the series so far. I know these will never compete with imports but for the price, I continue to love this line.

Decided I have a tiny criticism with Dhalsim in that he could absolutely be taller and probably should be, but the figure otherwise is so nice I really don't care that he's a bit too short. Bring on the remaining big boys, I'm ready to finish the SF2 cast.

I really liked Storm collectibles MK, especially in the beginning when they were still like $60-80. $100+ was a bit too rich for me but they really had the right idea with the accessories.

Imo balrog, Honda, and zangief could be the peak for this line. Those are figures most lines would really screw up.
